    Hayes or Bolton

This is just a bit of fun (Seeing I am doing nothing at work at this minute).

Watching the replay last night, it was pointed out that Lenny was a Swans fan, and Jude was a Saints fan, but they ended up at opposite clubs.

If you could go back in time, who would you take?

Lenny instead of Jude and Jude instead of Ryan.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

      Re: Hayes or Bolton

Lenny Hayes is a fantastic player, and I'd love to see him in the red and white, but Jude is Jude, and I couldn't ever wish that he wasn't in our team. He has the heart, the courage, the leadership and the skill. Could probably only fault his consistency, but games like Sunday prove just how wonderful he can be!

That year we had a choice of three midfielders, we took Bolton and Fosdike when we should have taken Bolton and Hayes.

I can't answer this. I haven't seen Lenny Hayes play for quite a while. I was hoping he'd turn up at the SCG yesterday but obviously he didn't.

110% Jude.... no question in my mind.

Hayes is terrific, but I can't think about our team without our shinning star!

What Jude has can never be learned on the job. His courage and intensity are invaluable when backs are against the wall.

Lenny is very skillful and if not watched can vacuum the ball up like his mentor Robert Harvey, however Lenny's run isn't all that great and he is more of a confidence player than most people think.

What did he give the Saints when their backs were against the wall on Sunday and last year too?

I think wanting Lenny over Jude is 20/20 hindsight and I would not trade Jude for Lenny now in any case. Jude is Sydney and Lenny loves the attention of Melbourne.

I have said a few times in the past couple of weeks, including last week, that Hayes in overrated because while he racks up the stats, under pressure his delivery is questionable. When he is guarded he struggles to get the ball. He has a lot of midfield support and rarely gets tagged as effectively as he was yesterday.

Only cause Maxfield got in there first just about everytime. Seriously though, do you really think he played a bad game on Sunday?

i dont think he played badly, he did get 7 contested possessions... however, bolton's effectiveness pretty much revolves around his ability to get clearances, if he got none, he had a bad game...

i did notice him starting on the wing a bit during the game, which would account for him getting no CB clearances but around the ground - he shouldve done a lot more

Did you see how he was just coming over the top of the pack and punching the ball forward till he was well and truly shirtfronted to keep him out of it? The Aints certainly thought he was being effective and needed taking out (like B2).

                            Them snipers...

And can we all take notice of who it was exactly that shirt-fronted him. None other than Lenny Hayes (who is obviously jealous of Bolton's superior abilities/team).

Poor B2... one of the most under rated players IMO!
