Faark, no wonder Pies fans have an overinflated opinion of their team when journos write that a suspension of their FF alters the future structure of the game.

Walking back to my car after that game was the most depressed I've been since I became interested in AFL. But the only game I've seen that was worse was Aints-Swans in 2002 - and look how both those teams have progressed from a game that neither deserved to win (and didn't when it sogged into a draw).

Thats madness. The draw is hopelessly lopsided as it is, we need to get 4 points any way we can every game. You simply have to take the good (tarrant missing) with the bad (trips to perthx2 and brisbanex1) and hope you can snag a top 4 spot.

The Melbourne media have decided that the top four has already settled as Aints, Dees, Lions and Dons. If we beat Port by enough to go up two percentage points then we'd leapfrog them to move into 5th and just one game behind the loser of the Lions/Dons game. Perversely, we'd be better off if the Pies beat the Dees. And, of course, if the Doggies beat the Aints. As they say, I'd like to see that! But, as we know, the Doggies don't play badly but they don't seem to be able to hold concentration for a full game against any team.

you're right. i can't really recall him doing too much against us last year but i have blocked out a lot of that TS game so i might be wrong. should be a huge game anyway.

I would go so far as to say that if we beat Port this weekend, we will be top 4 by seasons end.

I'm pleased Tarrant didn't get off. We're missing a couple of players ourselves, and to keep winning at this time of year is paramount. If him not being there makes it easier for us, then good.

I won't complain if another clubs bad luck can help get us up there towards the end of the season, when hopefully we'll have players coming back from injury to enhance our finals campaign.

                  Any advantage helps.
