I hope that the Club has a good hard look at some of the Reserves players who have been on the list for a few years and who will never make AFL level. I consider our back up list to lack real quality.

Yes, and our depth is being tested currently with the amount of long term (3 weeks ) injuries. I suspect Warfe will go and Nicks will be offered as trade bait again.

If he plays like he has been of late then I reckon he'll still be around next year.

We are going to have to put something up for trade you would imagine if they are going after something substantial.

Might have to lose a favourite son or two to get what they want....Will be an intersting period after our premiership win.

Well I'd like to see him stay too. I have always been a big fan of Nicksy. And yes he hasn't been playing too bad of late. (Just a lazy 4 last week). But his name has been bandied around at the end of the last couple of years.

I guess it will depend on what his form is like by the EOY, what the club is looking for, and who they are willing to give up if a trade is required.

I think Nicks will finish his career at the Swans. If his season continues in the same form will keep him, if he tanks I can't see another club taking him on.

My money is on him staying at the club.

Who do you consider fits into that category? Warfe aside, the only players running around in the reserves at the moment who have been on the list for more than two years are Fixter (returning from long-term injury), Powell, LRT and Hunt (who's only on the rookie list). You can add Sundqvist who is of course hobbling around on crutches at the moment.

I'm sure the club does look very closely at its list every year, but the reality is that its drafting strategy over the last few years has been to take players they expected to take a while to develop.

I think we can get carried away with the "instant" success of the likes of Judd and Riewoldt and their ilk and expect all players to make their mark in their first couple of seasons on a list. Most take far longer. You only have to look to the Swans own list to see players like O'Keefe and Buchanan - even Brett Kirk and Ben Mathews- who developed gradually over several years, and who are now all playing beautiful football.

I thought Hunt was on the senior list. Isn't Taylor the only one left in our team who is ineligible to play senior footy? Maybe my wires are crossed.

Edited to say nevermind - I've gone crazy. There are three of them - Potter, Hunt and Taylor.

Yep. Other clubs won't be wanting to pick up our duds, which is why Nicks (at that time) and Warfe were seen as undesirable trade options last year.

I can see Fosdike and Fixter's name going onto the table. Great trade value attached to both players (although Fixter has to actually start playing again to start showing his wares).

Of the younger brigade, I'd be thinking Ablett-but he still seems to be missing those "11 herbs and spices" that would make his flavour appealing to other clubs.

Which current players would people like to see picked up from other clubs?

Does anybody know how to reach Nostradamus?

Mal Michael would be a good tall and strong defender.
Using hypothesis testing via confidence intervals:
Nick Davis mark inside 50 = goal

If we are seriously after two KPPs then we are going to have to cough up big time, unless we are lucky enough to get one a la Nick Davis where our game of brinkmanship resulted in handing over a round 2 pick. But such games don't always work, Nick Stevens being the obvious example.

Let's assume we are looking for a tall back and a midfielder. A current star will cost us a round 1 plus some.

For me the only untouchables in our side would be Hall, Barry, Goodes, O'Loughlin, Kirk, Schneider and probably Doyle (for the simple fact that Ball is near the end and Goodes no longer rucks). I would also think the likes of Ball, Williams, Maxfield would not be up for trade given their ages.

So if we are serious about getting two guns, we need to be realistic about the price required.

You'd trade Crouch, Tiger and Pebbles?

I wouldn't trade Crouch or Tadgh just at the moment. O'Keefe actually makes the most sense of these three though. He's a Melbourne boy after all. Does anyone know if his feet are getting itchy? Maybe he's worth the other Mcveigh.

I wouldn't call any of these untouchable if it meant getting a Scarlett or a Judd
