IIRC - the swans undertook a different style preseason where we concentrated on sprint sessions rather than long-distance running

maybe, hyperthetically and allegedly that that may have caused these boys' hamstings to be strung too tight???

Do we have the highest number of hamstring injuries?

      It sure seems like it.

Roos says that Doyle too was in doubt. Going to be a good game regardless. But I'm not as confident as I was for the Saints game.

It really is another "let's just give it our best shot" type of game.

          Bring it on!

I think "hamstring" is just a word the club uses for a player missing games when there is a more serious problem that could potentially be targetted by the opposition (should they ever return).

I think you'll find that many players have all of the above before they even run onto the field ... I know of one that has to have at least two injections before he even straps his boots on.

I think it is very lucky our break is one week earlier than the rest of the comp. We really need it obviously.

According to the radio news Doyle is out. According to ten news MOL's problem is knee soreness not hamstring twinges.

                        So the final team is:

                        PLAYERS

                        B: J. Crouch C. Bolton P. Bevan

                        HB: L. Ablett A. Goodes T. Kennelly

                        C: S. Maxfield P. Williams B. Mathews

                        HF: R. O'Keefe B. Hall J. McVeigh

                        F: A. Buchanan M. Powell M. Nicks

                        F: J. Bolton, B. Kirk, S. Doyle

                        I: N. Fosdike, H. James, N. Davis, J. Meiklejohn

                        Emergency: S. Dempster, J. Thewlis

or at least that's how AFL.com lines us up. If Doyle's out, MJ moves to the starting lineup and Dempster to the bench. Also, has Ablett ever started in the back pocket? Probably swap him and Heath James (depending on who Port starts on the field). Has Thewlis ever been an emergency before? With the way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the field come Saturday. There must be a few hammies we can do yet...

It doesn't say Doyle is out. But I guess we'll know by Sunday!!

According to afl.com.au, LRT also added to the extended squad. Has he even played a match of any level in the past 6 weeks?

Hmmm...don't like the news on Doyle, even though it isn't entirely unexpected.

Apart from the guys named to play on Sunday, we have 9 others injury-free guys available to play. Of these:

4 are 2003 draftees that you wouldn't expect to play this year (Schmidt, Davis, Willoughby and Ericksen).

That leaves 5. Fixter is returning from injury (thank God), McGlone, Dempster and Thewlis are yet to debut (no experience there), and the last 2 are Rogers and Warfe (the latter of which many think has played his last game of AFL).

I know basically everything I've posted of late has been about this same thing, but I am just astounded. Could our list be any thinner?
