If Doyley doesn't get on the paddock this year, then I would suggest injuries will mean his body is not up to AFL conditions and he should be delisted.
His potential is great but that is not helpful out on the pitch! My patience has worn super thin with his health. The Pain of Discipline is Nothing Like The Pain of DisappointmentComment

Not Goodes because at least he plays. I think we have seen the best from O'Loughlin and he will always be uncertain to play. However he has talent and has given the club a lot over the years so he should stay. Even when he plays Doyle hasn't looked anything special.Four or five years is a long time to invest in a player who is not going to deliver. We could have picked up a young ruckman 3 years ago and he may have been almost ready by now. But the Swans crappy recruiting is another matter.---------||--ANNE--||----------Comment

We all see the potential in Doyle, but as soon as he tweaks a hammy, everyone gets the nervous nellies and calls for his sacking. Now who do you think should replace him if Ball was to retire this year? LRT? Meiklejohn?Comment

I think the focus on a ruckman's ability to get the hitout is overrated. Barely 1 in 4 go to advantage anyway, and this can be countered by your midfield. This is especially the case in the centre.
Also, around the ground a third man up can counter a large opposing ruckman to some degree. J Bolton does that a lot, but I wish either he or some other players would work it out a bit better as most of his punches go into open space and seem to be gathered by the opposition.
What I think is more important is for the ruckmen to simply give a contest, thus making it less likely the opposition will get an effective tap anyway.
The midfield and the ruckmen around the ground are more important I think.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
