Three players injured who would have been expected to be 2nd, 3rd and 4th on the goalkickers list is always going to mess with our goalkicking.
Apart from that the others have all done averagely (which isn't a word but you know what I mean)...ie Nicks not bad, midfielders kicking half their chances. Average, not the Bulldogs and not the Lions.
The major dissappointment has been O'Keefe. He is at leat 10 goals shy of where I believe he should be based on the amount of game time and the amount of effort he has put in this year.
10 more goals from O'Keefe and we would have won 2 or 3 more games. He hasn't stepped up this year when we have needed him. He has not kicked match winning goals for 3 years.
He is one of my favourite players and I confidently predict that when he starts getting tangible results for his efforts then the entire team performance will turn around.
This is the list of non key-position goal kickers (not including Matera who is #1 for eagles)

Whatever way you look at it this is not good. He has been in "the best" 3 times this year and has worked tirelessly. He is not even approaching his best yet, though.
This is a good thing for the future, of course. At the start of the year I think a lot of us hoped that he would where Cameron Bruce is (27). Same size, same role. The reality is O'Keefe is interchangeable with Matthew Lokan and a long way from the likes of Ebert, Lovett-Murray, Dew and Bowden who are all showing him how it should be done.
Hopefully a long look at this list would be a wake up call.
