I don't think the weagles would trade Cox as I heard due to Gardiners knee he may never ruck again and may play forward only.

I believe it was Nathan Gibbs over the treatment he received when he was suffering from OP.Originally posted by penga

We all dream of a team of BLTs!Comment

We need a key defender to cover schaubs and assist him or a ruckman...perhaps mcdonald from birssie for the ruck???? hes fallen down the list a bit and is a prooven player.
as long as the swans dont draft someone like holland from hawthorn or bandy from the dogs....
dont want another tingay, brereton, daffy, allison etcTheres not much left to sayComment

A bizarre concept is one way to describe this.Originally posted by penga
it seems like a bizarre concept - but id like to know if stafford is out of contract at the end of the year...

we need someone to carry our ruck for a couple of years, he'd have it in him...
We would be absolute idiots to trade Stafford back. It would be a short term solution that would in all probability fail.
His form at Richmond has been ok, nothing exceptional. His form at the Swans over his last two seasons was pathetic. Don't use the excuse that he had an injured groin, because the bloke was dropping simple chest marks too regularly.Comment

How about targeting some young class, like Brad Green or Cameron Bruce from Melbourne? or Power from Brisbane? or Del Santo
For ruck, I think Stafford could be a real bargain as I wouldn't be surprise if both Ottens and Thompson were also on the market, and therefore attracting the big bids.
...although Richmond would be unlikely to give up two ruckman -but, they do need to clean house.Comment

it would be a short term solution that has no other way of being solved, if we draft another kid ruckman, we could be waiting for a couple of years before he could play... about the only other option would be to go for a player like hamish mcintosh, a player who hasnt cracked the senior side but who has been on a list for a couple of years and can handle the rigours of AFLOriginally posted by Captain

its a different scenario from when a team wants to top up their list to have a tilt for the flag as our ruck stocks could be only doyle next year - if, of course ball retires...C'mon Chels!Comment

We have our CHB in Goodes, we still could do with some depth in both CHB and FB.Originally posted by Nico

With his regular injuries and his successful career outside of football working in the finance industry and a family, I'm expecting Bally to call it quits at the end of the season - I don't want him to, but would be more surprised if he played on next year than if he retired.Originally posted by penga

I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I am not currently contracted to any AFL teams.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

It really depends on whether the coaching staff is willing to think outside the square!Originally posted by hemsleys
