Carey set to retire this week - we wont get to say 'goodbye'

Love him or hate him, I am feeling really ripped off right now.

I really wanted to see him play one more time at the SCG in July.

And the full-forwards continue to fall by the wayside before playing Sydney.

Look out Kent Kingsley, you must be next.

Seriously, if true, well done on a brilliant career. Even if I do think he's a prat.
    We hate Anthony Rocca
    We hate Shannon Grant too
    We hate scumbag Gaspar
    But Leo WE LOVE YOU!

And here I thought he will always be remembered as the guy who did the dirty on one of his teammates with the teammate's wife.

OOPS, did I just say that?????

          I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

So, considering that he's now going, how many of those people who thought we should have taken him still think it would have been a good idea?

            Not many I bet.

Could have been the difference between a preliminary final and premiership last year, we will never know?

If that had been the case, one year at the club would have been fine by me.

Up with Lockett he was by the far the best player we have had the prevlidge to see play in the flesh in my lifetime so far. Won games off his own boot.

My only disappointment is that he didn't retire sooner.

I always hated him, but only because he was so great.

                    Sad to see him retire.

Personally couldn't give a rats what he has done in his personal life - up to the people he affected to forgive or not to forgive.

i was O/S when he was looking like coming to sydney, and i really didn't want to see it happen. what got me the most was him saying that he had always had a good relationship with the sydney crowd.

                        great player. good riddance

He was a champion, but pretty much a shadow of his former self at the crows...

it really shows what a year off can do to a player i guess

He was showing signs of wear and tear in his last year at the Roos. I remember when we thrashed them by 90 odd points in 2001 and he was a shadow of his former self.

I'm sad he didn't go out on a big stage like he deserved.

if you look at the afl website today it supports your point... his top games are all before about 1998 except that one against essendon in 1999....

                              yeh a champion though!!
