It's great to see him back.

My only reservation is that he will need a lot of time on the pine. So will Thewlis. Magic, Barry, Ball, Doyle may also be under injury clouds. Ablett and McVeigh have spent a lot of time on the pine this season. I hope the team has the fitness to run out the full game.

hes back in the side in the basis of the past... in reality he has done nothing since 2002 and only has nine games...cant keep him if he doesnt show something but im sure he can hes got the talent and desire

i just dont want us to hold a player because he had a handful of good games a couple of years back
Theres not much left to say

He didn't just have a "handful of good games a couple of years back". He won Sydney's best first year player award, and was the 2002 equivalent of Schneider last year and Bevan (so far) this year. He's been out of the team since through a series of injuries, not through lack of form.

If we don't see Schneider back at all this year and then he suffers a set-back in the pre-season such that it takes him a while to get back into the first team, will we be calling for his blood?

Roos obviously rates him very highly and if he can recapture his 2002 form he will be a valuable addition to the midfield, defence and/or forward line. He has shown he can play in each of them.

Why don't we just give the bloke a chance to show us again that he can play?

hmm yeh he has to show us

it doesnt matter what he did in 2002 if he never gets back there again

my point is he could easily never get back to how he performed again... and i hope we dont hold onto him for years if he doesnt perform..

I hope he does play well though

They had Willo on WS-FM this morning (didn't get to hear the whole thing) but he was talking about Fixter and a comparison with Bevan and he said Bevo has played a similar role to what Fixter can, the only thing with Bevo is that right now, he's restricted to the backline, whereas Fixter can also be pushed forward.

IMHO Fixter is held in high regard not just by the coaching staff, but also his teammates.

A thought he had a good first up game, even after Goldstink failed to pay him a free in the first quarter when he was held around the neck without the ball.

Memo Swansrules100: I think he did.

I actually thought fixter deserved a few frees. Everytime he went near the ball his opponent was in his back.

he sure did and im glad..

i never said he wouldnt play well, just said he cant be held forever because of 2002 if he comes back and doesnt perform and so on

but fixter showed skill and endevour and if he reamins injury free will become a very very good player

Look that was once against Hawthorn (when we were terrible in atrociously windy conditions) and the defender was the best chasing tackler in the game at the time...so give him a break, eh?

Agree completely, at the start of 2003 I was looking forward to seeing Fixter move onto the ball 9he reminded me of Kelly). At the start of 2004 I felt the same about Schneider, such pace, wow.

Although the days of extyended square rotations are here to stay . . . I look forward to seeing them occupying the centre square together with Bolton (YES BOLTON) and Doyle in the 2007 Premiership side.
