Fixter was showing some great signs.
I think there are two people worth noting.

One is Jason Ball who was great i thought, hes a great ruckman and i felt the commentators underestimated his influence on the game.

The other player is Luke Ablett i thought he played quite a good game and showed some signs.

Stephen Doyle is in the side for being over 200cms tall thats about all at the moment ..

Rocca was in the goalsquare to keep Barry out of the contest and also because he was not fully fit.

Goodes doesn't play defensively enough for a CHB. It's great to have an attacking backman, but he also needs to remember that there is a defensive side to the game and I don't think he doesn that enormously well. I tend to have same view of Kennelly, whom I think would be better on the wing.

        Hey Sharpie

Yeah we deserve to be 14th, but we will finsh higher than that this year.

"Party like 1933" - that is funny too. At least i saw my team win a premiership 1990....hahaha 1933. You might be waiting until 2033.......

btw, r u doing any comedy routines at any clubs to support your very witty and highly repartee? well don't bother

didnt you tell me once goodes was good at CHB?? lol...... when i said our best team had him on the flank....

though i think u said hes better than saddington there.

I agree with you on both points... kennelly is struggling a bit at times i think...... hes wasted down back... i think fixter would be good on the half back flank

To say I was disappointed with the game is an understatement.

First the attendance was bad, then we got a scrappy game to top it off. No doubt we gifted the game to Sydney. Leon Davis missed an easy set shot from 30 metres out. Rocca missed 2 set shots, McGough missed a shot running into goal. Nicks got paid a mark right in front that he barely held. Given that we tried but we are not playing with any confidence...we may be the best 14th placed team ever!

Yes I am disgruntled, but you guys were very lucky.
I can understand that. To be brutally frank the Pies put in. Everyone was saying it was a bad game of footy. I thought it was really intense. Not finals intensity like the St Kilda game, but desperate all the same.

Your season reminds me of ours in 2002 under Eade. Getting leads in matches, then frittering them away in the last quarter of matches every week. But bad kicking is bad football, pure and simple. Your forwards did NOT make the most of their opportunities. Things like that happen when you are not going well. And they make a huge difference at the highest level.

Still we held on in a tough one. Which is great for the young guns. And Boyo Kenneally kicking the matchwinner, great craic that!

Did anyone see Jarrod Crouch put his hand around his ear when the crowd on the half forward line near me were booing, as if to say he couldn't hear them booing. It got the result he aimed for, far more booing from the Swans fans. And umps who were more nervous about making anti-Swans decisions in that area of the ground.

And contrary to some posts on here, Tarrant would have made all the difference. We couldn't mark in the forward 50. Tazza is our best mark, and our highest goal scorer. The AFL Tribunal should be sacked for their disgraceful display in giving him 2 weeks. He was going for the ball. Seriously AFL is becoming like basketball, you can't touch anyone anymore. The game is becoming soft.

It is easy to be cocky after a close win, but Sydney are nothing special this year. If you are happy with that win, well bring on 2005. No team will beat Brisbane this year in a final. Sydney does play well against them but still won't beat them. St Kilda and Melbourne should finish high up but without finals experience, will fall. PA are pretenders, as are Essendon. Geelong I don't rate in finals. So Brisbane it is.

Yes I am disgruntled, but you guys were very lucky.
You are an ignorant idiot who knows nothing about football. You do, however, know how to be a bad loser...gee, you must be a Collingwood fan.

You can have Tarrant...we'll have Schauble, Davis, Schneider, Saddington, Buchanan and a fully fit Goodes, Barry and Williams (you can have Rocca fully fit if you want). Fair swap you @@@@in' stupid ****?

Lucky? We missed three straightforward shots for goal (same as you). Umpires??? you are @@@@in' joking. The Nicks one was a free. He was TACKLED AROUND THE WIST AND BROUGHT TO GROUND by the defender...if he didn't hold the mark then he is tackled without the ball. Pretty simple really.

Three Collingwood goals from incorrect umpiring decisions. Get a life. you are a loser.

Tarrant elbowed a player in the head. Watch the video you loser. Maybe he should have got one week as no injury was done. He was not going for the ball he got nowhere near it and decided to give the defender one, it's very obvious.

Doyle's ruck work was fantastic...first time we have won taps (and some to our advantage) for ages.

Thewlis really showed enough. Even his error (which cost a goal) was not a skill error but a vision error. It would have hit the Swan on the chest.

Ablett played his first game when he appeared to be just another midfielder..not a youngster trying not to mess up.

                      Fixter....woah!!
                      Bevan....woah!!!

Could we get some more commitment to the ball please????!!!!!

The best thing of all??? Collingwood had 21 of their best 22 on the park and they played as well as they can play (except for a couple of shots at goal). They had an astonishing umpiring advantage....at least as good as Essendon's $20,000 bribe day ( ) ...and they still looked the 2nd best team on the park...and better yet, lost as well.

Based on team structure alone yes by far and away required in our best 22. If you were to replace Doyle if you had the choice who and why? I think you might struggle to find one Ball is great as our no 1 ruckman competes at the ruck contests well and wins plenty of the ball around the ground and uses it well.

Good post JF_Bay22_SCG - spot on we mucked up our opportunities and the swans made the most of theirs. 11.13 to 13.7 - 4 more scoring shots. no excuses just a pathetic performance by us.

i was just asking for thoughts..... wasnt saying it was wrong or right.

i think doyle can play a lot better than he has this year and needs to be....... if he wasnt tall he wouldnt be in at the moment. At his best he could be a really good player.

If for some reason they did replace him, id use Roberts thompson... he is capable of developing into a second ruck and handy forward/backman....

                              what a predictable response sharp9.

i've only been following football for 17 years, go to every swans game in sydney and read the footy news everyday on line.

Not having a sook - and i'm not a loser, and i've got a pretty good life thanks. why can't i post on here, i take a keen interest in the swans results. i'll be at the next home game cheering them on actually against the crows.

I'm just venting my frustration at how bad the pies are playing this year. I don't mind being abused but childish posts such as yours are pathetic. funny as well to see your reaction too.
