I just thought Id add that one in.
Wasn't there a big lump from WA called Brad Smith on Collingwood's list in the late 90s?

I'm a collingwood fan who lives in Sydney, and attends all swans games at the SCG. I have a full set of teeth, and even though I bleed black and white, I can appreciate other teams...and cheer the swans against the rest of the competition.

To say I was disappointed with the game is an understatement.

First the attendance was bad, then we got a scrappy game to top it off. No doubt we gifted the game to Sydney. Leon Davis missed an easy set shot from 30 metres out. Rocca missed 2 set shots, McGough missed a shot running into goal. Nicks got paid a mark right in front that he barely held. Given that we tried but we are not playing with any confidence...we may be the best 14th placed team ever!

And contrary to some posts on here, Tarrant would have made all the difference. We couldn't mark in the forward 50. Tazza is our best mark, and our highest goal scorer. The AFL Tribunal should be sacked for their disgraceful display in giving him 2 weeks. He was going for the ball. Seriously AFL is becoming like basketball, you can't touch anyone anymore. The game is becoming soft.

It is easy to be cocky after a close win, but Sydney are nothing special this year. If you are happy with that win, well bring on 2005. No team will beat Brisbane this year in a final. Sydney does play well against them but still won't beat them. St Kilda and Melbourne should finish high up but without finals experience, will fall. PA are pretenders, as are Essendon. Geelong I don't rate in finals. So Brisbane it is.

Yes I am disgruntled, but you guys were very lucky.
You keep believing what you believe mate. I won't begrudge your delusions

Yeah I have met all the swans list as I live in sydney and go to the games...didn't u read my first post? I course I know who Powell, Thewlis, Sundqvist and Malceski are. I watch the reserve game as well as the main game. So you can abuse me all you want but I called it from a pies perspective, if you're not interested you can ignore the post, or if someone is interested they can read and reply with something a bit more intelligent. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, the world would be boring if everyone liked the same things.

As for the Nicks free kick - from my view at the game I thought the umpire paid the mark, i was at the ground and didn't see the replay, so thanks for enlightening me further on the issue.

I think we should of won but our kicking for goal was woeful...yep we deserve to be 14th at the moment, but think we'll improve on that be season end.

Swans may make the 8, but not the top 4, Brisbane will be to good for all and sundry. Let's move on......

and yes 'JF_Bay22_SCG' u r dead right....we would like you to smash carlton to oblivion!! please by 100 points, no less.

TheHood: thx - I see the same thing on the pies bulletin board, even between our own supporters, slagging people off who have an opinion contrary to the popular view, or just contrary to their narrow minds.
Now that is a better post than the first lot of tripe you posted on here. Keep up along those lines and the people on this board might respect you a bit more.

There was little wrong with Fitzgerald's ability to play football - it was just his body that didn't stand up to it, for whatever reason. It would be drawing a long bow to say that his ensuing injury woes were apparent at the time he was drafted.

Don't you love it when someone tries to sell the Harbour Bridge, but the tourist isn't interested?

Bomber fans on Bigfooty trying to tell us O'Keefe for McVeigh is a good deal. Carlton fans here telling us we should go for Livingston in return for Fixter.

                  Very amusing.

Even without injuries I think the jury was still out on his ability at AFL level.

There is an extremely high risk in drafting 25 year olds (or around that age) as they havent been tried at AFL level, and probably wont improve much as their body is already mature.

I think the Swans can say to McVeigh if you want to play for us go in the pre season draft.(coming out of contract)No need to trade anyone for him.

Forgive me if I'm wrong (and I admit from time to time I have been), but didn't Kirky come in at a rather "mature age"? And who would begrudge this champion in the Ones?
Good men do good deeds. Evil men do evil deeds. But it takes religion for a good man to do evil deeds.

bit of a difference with Kirky - he came off the rookie list - was probably 21 or 22 at the time - and thats precisely what the rookie list is for - picking up the speculative pick who if he develops becomes a gun player - and if he doesn't its no loss

I'm not sure if that comment was meant tongue in cheek but if not, I think it is a bit insulting to McVeigh. I agree with comments that he shouldn't be a recruiting priority but only on the basis we already have a fair number of his "type" of player.

But he is holding down a regular spot in a team well in the top 8 - and that is hardly the stuff of rookie lists.
