The Fraser one was weird. Richards was way slow getting to the contest for the ball-up. He got there just as the umpire paid the free to Fraser and if anything, Nicks sort of sheparded Richards as he sprinted in to get to the contest. Richards' tardiness sort of forced Fraser to contest with Ball and Kennelly was just making a contest with his opponent, unaware that Fraser was trying to contest.
That's correct, Tadgh had no way of knowing that his opponent (who initiated contact) was the "designated ruckman."

    Incorrect free.

Rocca scored from incorrect free when Barry marked. There was NO PUSH...plus Rocca dived forward as well. Unbelievable.

each team got a goal from a soft holding the ball.

What about Bazza being pinged for holding when he had not even a millisecond of prior opportunity. Didn't even have the ball in two hands before his other arm was pinned! Absolutely astonishing decision.

So let me get this straight....you are not allowed to run back with the flight of the ball, with your eyes entirely on the ball trying to get it to land on your chest? FFS Crouch's look behind was waaaaay before the contest, just so he would know if it would be a contested mark or not.....so they are saying you're not allowed to see if there will be contact???

True. You cannot block a ruckmans path to the ball, BUT, for that to happen Collingwood would have had to nominate a ruckman for the contest.

To me it seemed like Fraser was late on the scene, so I am unsure how they could have payed the free kick.

And that one wasn't even awarded by Goldstink.

        Could not believe it.

Crouch is in front, moves backwards, at all times keeps his eyes on the ball and Cloke jumps all over him. Can someone please explain to me what he is supposed to do in a one on one contest. Stand there and let Cloke jump all over him??

The Cloke/Crouch incident was the weirdest decision I've seen in 30 years of watching footy.

I don't usually worry about umpiring decisions . . . when you analyse it you can usually see why the decision was made even if you disagree with it.

But I've got no idea why Crouch was penalised . . . he can't have stopped Cloke getting to the contest, because he was the contest! It seemed as if the umpire was saying that Crouch shouldn't have contested the mark by running backwards??

I think the umpire blew his whistle as a reflex action when the two players collided, and then panicked because he had no idea what infringement had occurred. It just made him look stupid.

It was funny listening to Walls trying to come up with a sensible explanation . . . he was terrified of saying that Collingwood was just plain lucky!

The ABC radio commentary team called that decision ridiculous along with quite a few other decisions.

I must say as bad as Goldspink is, he was overshadowed Saturday by, I think, McInerney. He seemed to be the instigator of most of the bad decisions against us.

What is wrong with Walls? He seems to have lost it as a commentator totally, and to hear Tim Lane, one of the few commentators whom I respect, summing up to say if Tarrant was there Pies would've won is just too much!

Swans five back from injury and five of our top players out!

Prior to game Pies assistant announced this was their strongest team for the year barring Tarrant, O'Bree has NOT been in good form so that was really no loss.

No more excuses gentlemen, ball-boys, commentators and Toothless Army......Swans WON!!!
