Goodes plays CHB as a loose man in defence whick looks good when he comes over the top of marking contests to spoil or mark but looks terrible when his man takes a mark 50 meteres a way.I would like to see him on the ball as a Pavlich,Hird type player but that doesn't take into account his injury or that of the backline.

i guess he thought that cam cloke didnt deserve much respect, which is warranted... other games at CHB he has been a lot tighter. as has been stated on other threads, it forced rocca to go to the goal square. goodes at CHB is worth it if we can manipulate the matchups like what happened on sat night

i do agree, however, that id like to see him as a midfielder

goodes is talented enough to adapt to anywhere given time...but he is just such a good attacking player seems a shame to waste him

I heard Willo talking to Kevin Bartlett this morning and he said Schauble would be back this week but he wasn't sure if it was in the seniors or the reserves.

Would be reserves surely since he hasn't played in yonks. Also it wouldn't be that necessary to rush him back into the seniors this week with Pavlova (Fevola) and "Where's the Pie Truck?" (Whitnall) not playing.

We have a couple of sets of old legs who will need careful management over the rest of the season. Mick?s tendonitis will never go away, so we should expect him to miss a few and Willo needs a rest. Reckon these guys will miss a couple when others like Davis, Fosdike and Monty come back. And are we going to be lucky enough to have no more injuries ? I think not

Shaubs will need a couple of weeks in the magoos for fitness and to get some touch. On his return maybe Goodes could have a break. Schneiferman could come straight back as he is a ?natural? footballer and can have impact from the bench.

Roos has never deviated from his policy of wanting to giving our kids a go and in this vein I would expect that he will give Thewlis a few more games and Dempster a couple of runs before the season is over.

Roos needs to balance the need to blood the kids, make the finals, and have his best side fit and firing come crunch time.

I would love to see Goodes roving. But also maybe as a kind of sweeper in the defense - soccer style. Able to cover when Leo or Tadgh go in attack, able to double team a key forward or able to go in attack himself.

Though I am sure Goodes got a bit of a run as a rover in the Collingwood game, I am sure there was a point in the last quarter where there were four Sydney "Rucks" contesting for one stoppage - Ball, Doyle, Goodes and LRT.
