I'm with the lady glaring at the writer of the article. I find it annoying when people talk about non-football related matters for most of the game. It's not the same as general noise or cheering - it's distracting and annoying. I can't believe the writer of the article is complaining about certain Swans supporters and saying "no wonder AFL will never really get a foothold here" - he/she is the reason - they are too busy discussing everything but the football!!

As for chanting and waving and the like, I don't mind some of it, but I find it tiresome when some people want to do it every couple of minutes, particularly when you are trying to concentrate on watching the actual game.

I have finally read the article that has caused this 5 page thread...

I go to the game to watch the football. If someone is talking in front of me about NON football matters it can annoy me but you can block it out, surely it isn't that hard (unless they are standing in front screaming).

I remember this one time my father was getting right into the barracking when this wine sipping yuppie woman in front turned around and said 'do you mind!'. I then retorted with... "what do you expect, this is not a library. You are at a football match."

Another thing... I got into a smallish arguement with a Pie supporter on Saturday night. It was about that DIVE Rocca took. It was quite funny when I think about it, but at the time my blood was boiling!

Back to this thread... Maybe someone should write to heckler and complain about the label TRUE Sydneysider Swans supporters have.

If Messers Sam Saunders was in melbourne he would have been lynched..and made an example of! I can't believe he had the hide to write about it..i mean..is this for real???

I don't mind people chatting if its regarding the game in progress or a bad umpires call..but when they are talking about their social lifes..POQ already!!

i wonder if Messers Saunders gets annoyed when he is at the movies and someone behind him is chatting on their fone or to their partner?

Why are people in this city soooo against showing a bit of passion when watching football? Its not a new thing...why are Sydneysiders such C grade snobs?

award winning for sure. i noticed when watching the tape that the commentary was ammended from "brilliantly nudged under the ball by barry" to " umpire goldspink doesn't miss a trick "

robert walls was so pro pies it was ridiculous.

He seems to get favourites for no reason - he was very pro-Swans last year.

Bandwagonism... though don't know why you'd want to be a pie bandwagoner this season
