Barry Hall was awesome again - the understanding he and Mickey have in the forward line is really developing into something that will have opposition coaches worried.

Another positive was that, like last week when the game was in the balance, we clawed our way to a win.

Also, I think Stewie's role as Captain and midfielder cannot be underrated. In fact, our midfield at times today showed true courage and desperation.

Don't want to seem like a Schneider-rose-coloured-glasses person, but althought he did a few mistakes (how did he miss that goal!?!? ) I saw him chase, lay a few tackles, had a few touches, and couple of kicks... not that bad IMO for first game in 8 weeks!

It was a windy day, it is always hard to win at Optus, we gutsed it out.

But why of why in the 2ndQ kicking with a gale did they insist on short passing into the forward line from the wing. Dumb. If you do that you have to hit players on the chest. People at the game were moaning because Micky dropped marks, but the kicks to him were way above his head when under pressure. They just don't know what a low kick to the chest is.

Mathew Nicks seems to have a problem at set shots from 50M with a howling gale behind him. Why else would he twice try to short pass to a player under severe pressure. The second time the game was there to be won and he stuffed up.

Would someone next time they seem him in the rooms, grab that sledge hammer from the corner and give him a little clip behind the ears for me. Fair dinkum it was dumb play.

Floating handpasses in the first quarter inside the 50 missed their targets about four times in a row.

And Goodes'y has got to play it a bit smarter, when he ponces around too much I am afraid he looks a very dumb footballer!

He doesn't really seem to have a defensive mindset, not as accountable for his man as he should be. A positive though was his work o n the wing early in the game, ducking and weaving got past about half a dozen blues, some of the mobility is coming back.

One positive I saw was that again when the team needed to get on a roll it seemed to be instigated by the "captain". His determination to get the ball in the last quarter can not be questioned!

We did guts it out. We were 18 points down in last quarter and Swans supporters near us left early - hope they caught the news. We came from behind - and how!

Yeah, this is one issue that has sort of been forgotten.
Today's games wasn't all roses.

We played a team that won't play finals this year -- and who had at least as significant omissions as us -- and between half time and the fifteen minute mark of the last quarter, we allowed a 40pt turn around.

Typical inconsistency -- and still a worry.

Allowing a middle-of-the-road team that is currently understrength to come back into the game and nearly win it like that is pretty disappointing. Sure, we have a few players out, but it's not really a good excuse and we still have a lot of improving to do. We might be winning, which is good, but they're hardly convincing results.

Both "captains" had a large part in us toughing it out.

For me I'm just glad that they showed the determination - and just enough ability - to come back when they looked gone for all money. We can argue all we want about whether they should have let themselves get into the position they did, but learning to win "ugly" against a very determined and hard working opposition is something good teams have to do. The Swans of two years ago wouldn't have found anything when their legs were telling them they'd had enough.
