Just thinking about a night GF

I believe if the game started at 7pm here, it would be live into LA at 10am and NYC at 1pm

As it stands at the moment, the 2pm start is equal to LA 5am and NYC 8am.

Could make a big difference to the audience in the US, and have a reasonable impact on AFL revinue after a few years if it catches on.

I am fairly neutral as to the day/night debate, b ut I would be prepared to see how a change impacts both here and overseas.

        Correction:
If the game starts here at 7 p.m. that would be 5 a.m. in NYC and 2 a.m. in LA, therefore if the game starts 2 p.m. that would mean midnight in NYC and 9 p.m. in LA.

oops, my error, I looked at my world time clock which was set as if I were living in Berlin lol

So it appears that it is my better as far as the US is concerned to keep the game at 2pm...

If you think the game will ever take off in the states you are seriously kidding yourselves.

It has been shown on ESPN (i think) for a number of years and is viewed with nothing more than amusement !

It is too technical and "rules heavy" for the states, which already has baseball and NFL to fill that gap.

Except that it doesn't start at 2pm - isn't it closer to 3PM for the GF???

Australian football could take off in America, but only if started as a comp within America, with American names and logos, representing us cities. The yanks will never follow another code out side their country, except for @@@@s and giggles... as they are fond of saying.

We had this Roos wanker standing next to the Cheer Squad on Saturday. Apparently he'd come up from Tassie. One minute you thought he was an ok bloke, then he'd say something moronic. He was heaps pissed we beat the Blues.
"Oh and of course grounds in Tassie are SO much better than Princes Park."

Canadian football is heaps better mate. At least you can get in for less than $20.

no way, NHL kicks ass as far as excitement is concerned.

and it helps that the stadiums for CFL are three times the size of Hockey Arenas!

                            Cheers

can't go back to the topic. NHL is the second best sport in the world. it's a shame they get paid so much and now seem in a position to strike for the entire 2005 season. i love hockey, except for the leafs,(which is about as original as hating collingwood). stupid cheap shotting Domi, belak and worst of all tucker

go the (other) red and white. pavel datsyuk is the second coming
I wish my weed was EMO so it would cut itself

not the red wings!?!?!!!? with adolf hitler as their bench manager!

sorry, cant bring myself to support an american team. even though the stanley cup winners tampa bay had 15 canadians on their side.

its a fantastic, high speed game. and once you figure out the rules (yes kids, there are rules), its a piece of piss to understand whats happening there.

gotta admit though, detroit got what they deserved in the playoffs. calgary really had their number.

and even if there is a lockout, we'll have the vancouver giants in the WHL to watch anyways. and there is the world cup coming up too. lifes not so bad!

                                cheers
