I admit to picking the Kansas City Chiefs because they were red & white

A friend is a huge Red Wings fan though and she made me follow them.
Fate dictated that they also shared the Swannies colors

Nah, go the Habs. I even have a white Montreal Canadiens 'chandrail de hockey'. Yeah, Ok, it has a bit of blue in it as well, but I lived there. Still majority red and white. And would never support the steathly Maple Leafs, or one of the Seppo teams. (I'm sorry, but how many Floridans have a clue about ice hockey!)

I follow the Sanfrancisco 49ers in the NFL. And of course FC Bayern in Germany. Guess what colours they wear.

PS:- Don't the KC Chiefs wear red and yellow?

Absolutely heaps, because all the nothern staters/canadians retire there !

Hence the move of the teams south

Agree re Habs, cant get used to the new Molsen centre though, too sterile for my liking !

Quite a few canucks migrate to the warmer climates of Southern US (personally can't blame them) I know in College Hockey the team I support UAH (University Alabama Huntsville)Chargers have quite a few Canucks in the side
As for the KC Chiefs, pretty sure it is Red & White, with the Washington Redskins in Red&Yellow IIRC
Back on topic, a Swans vs Norf pre season match in lala land certainly would be a nice way to build up my frequent flyer account

It is too technical and "rules heavy" for the states, which already has baseball and NFL to fill that gap.
That's it! The gloves are OFF!
              Rules heavy my *ffing @rse!
When I have ANYONE from overseas to the game, I say "Look, it's like basketball on grass. Fast hand skills. No offside. Basically a game of keepings-off. Shots for goal. Tackling allowed. You can't hang onto the ball,, and must dispose etc etc ". By quarter time, NOT ONE convert EVER has had a problem, and ALL are born-agains by the final siren!!!!!

NOW, try understanding GridIron, or all the offside technical games without a degree in chess grandmastery, and I'll eat my hat!

sorry, cant bring myself to support an american team. even though the stanley cup winners tampa bay had 15 canadians on their side.

its a fantastic, high speed game. and once you figure out the rules (yes kids, there are rules), its a piece of piss to understand whats happening there.

gotta admit though, detroit got what they deserved in the playoffs. calgary really had their number.

and even if there is a lockout, we'll have the vancouver giants in the WHL to watch anyways. and there is the world cup coming up too. lifes not so bad!

                cheers

fair enough as a canadian to not want to cheer for an american team but seriously lescygnes.... original 6 team, stevie y captain, the fedorov years and the russian 5, ted lindsay, and the dead things era, my point is, it ain't no bandwagon thing, aren't the wings at least your favourite AMERICAN team?

go wings, unlucky calgary, iginla is crazy.

yeah, steve yzerman is pretty cool, as are a few others for the wings, but sorry, cannot support them.

they are one of the major US teams there that think that they can buy a stanley cup (and succeeded too on a few occasions recently)

same goes for the evil colorado avalanche (and dont get me started on Bertuzzi - whose west van house is on the market as of yesterday incidently), NY Rangers, Boston and a couple of lesser ones.

i'd add the leafs, but theyre jinxed!!! long live the jinx. (BTW, my roommie was at game 7 at the maple leaf gardens and saw Toronto life the stanley cup live.)

im happy enough with my underachieving because we have a ****ty goaltender canucks, closely followed by the Habs in the east.

and yeah, jarome iginla rocks! roll on the world cup!

                  cheers
