Did Barry do something stupid (tribunal stupid, not air swing or kick into the man on the mark stupid) that I missed?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

That is my concern - why the hell aren't we burying teams below us?

I guess time will tell if it hurts us.

Yeah tonight instead of having that 3rd quarter where we don't kick a goal we did it for the 4th quarter instead.

Also I agree with the previous posts about those bloody goal umpires - the Adelaide kick in the 4th Quarter was out on the full and Willo's was a behind, not the other way around.

Does anyone know if Fixter got injured he spent 3 Qtrs of the match on the bench? Also Bevan spent almost half the match on the bench as well, any idea why? Because he was having a blinder (that running back mark he did in the 1st Quarter was absolutely brilliant)

The group of people who I sit with all agreed Willo has to go for those darn goals instead of palming them off for behinds We had a bet at the beginning of the season who would hit the 300 goal mark first out of Hall, O'Loughlin and Willo and we've seen the other two hit the mark before Willo, who had the least amount of goals to get <g>

          Not to my knowledge.

I cringed when first Schaubes went for an air swing (luckily he connected, the last fresh airy cost him 14 matches), then Baz missed one... they do nasty things to hamstrings.

Cool... I was at the game and for some reason thought I saw suggestion of it at bigfooty (and of course I take everything I read there as gospel, such as Kirky not being able to get a game for the Dees)... just wanted to make sure there wasn't something picked up on the telecast

I thought that too, but it was actually a reference to Scarlett's potential appearance at the tribunal.

Disappointing the Swans didn't bury the cows in the last quarter, but still at least they got the four points which is guess is the most important thing.
All in all personally a nice night for me, Swans get over the line vs the Cows and Parramatta knock off the Chooks in the League

                  from afl.com.au:

Swans coach Paul Roos wasn't fussed about the style of Sydney's victory.

"I don't think they take any points off us for winning ugly, so (an unimpressive win) really doesn't make much difference to me as a coach," he said.

"(Adelaide) kicked 22 and 20 in the last couple of weeks so we were certainly very mindful of how attacking they are and how they want to play.

"But to the players credit, they carried out what the coaches had set them and the coaching group, as much as anyone, contributed to the low-scoring game."

It may have been ugly, but I think Roos and co were happy just to notch up a win. We got 32 points in front at one stage, and I think they were just being mindful of the ability of Adelaide to pile on goals quickly. But to see us shut up shop after half time was very disappointing.

ps. It was the most boring game Ive seen live.

Also, is this the first time we've come out of a game without any injuries?

And is it just me or does Schneider look like hes lost alot of speed in his legs?

Certainly was as dull as ditchwater (second quarter aside) but a win in greasy conditions against one of our "bogey" teams who smashed a top 4 side last week is not to be sniffed at.

While the inability to pile on some percentage when the opportunities arise may yet come back to haunt, I'm not overly concerned about the team not playing great football against lower teams so long as they win. The lack of fitness of half a dozen players is taking its toll but mostly the team has shown that they can lift to the level required. Of course they will need to play far better than that next week but hopefully they conserved some energy after a couple of physically taxing games.

Leo did a pretty good job on Welsh - only beaten on the lead once or twice and Kirk was fantastic in the first half. Bevan drifted in and out of the game (and on and off the bench) but was pretty good early on. Love his marking ability - he just never flinches away from the contest.

Most boring second half ever, yes, but we won! And it wasn't raining! And Schauble is back! We're a tackling mad side! There's lots to be excited about!

Schneider's game was pretty comical, but the signs are still there. His defensive work was pretty good, I thought. He seems as fast as ever (I think someone said something about him looking slow), I think it just might be his brain working a little slower than usual.

I was mightily impressed with O'Loughlin's game tonight. He chased like I've never seen him do before (or maybe I just never noticed), led constantly, and kicked a few goals (should have got at least one more, but hey).

Now I know many love to hate Jooba, but I wouldn't like to see our midfield without him. He was everywhere early in the game, dropped off probably a little, but still highly influential (in a good way). Sign him up (300k a year or not)!

Kirk is brilliant, and was a good night for him to showcase his talent, given the Kokoda commemorations, etc, and what it all means to him.

Was bored to death in the 2nd half, but I couldn't care less. We won! On to Kardinia Park!

On a random last note, it was nice to see pretty much the whole team say hello to Scotty Stevens at the end, and I was disappointed he didn't get all that much game time (although I would have hated it even more if he'd won the game for them, or something).

And congrats to whoever started this thread and tipped a 14 point win. You were only 1 point off!

Well we have the 4 points but we are not a convincing team, and can someone teach Doyle to kick please.
You got it Annie. I was filthy at my team after the match in the Noble Room (before Go Swannies calmed me down).

I don't know why I was so angry. I just felt let down by the 2nd half. The Crows are pish. We should have murdered them. Again, we didn't.

Again we coasted when a true hard-nosed footy side would have buried those wankers. Why oh why do we lower the level of our game when we play a poor opponent?

PS:- One highlight was Myles Baron Haye sitting with us in the Cheer Squad in the 3rd quarter. He even waved a flag and joined in the cheering, as this typpicaly idiotic South Aussie drunk behind him was getting Goodes and O'Laughlin mixed up.
