LRT has 3 HO in 7 games this year, and averages 2 HO a game over his 23 game career.

Does anyone have clanger numbers for LRT? IMO he's a hack.

As far as I can see there is no reason to consider LRT to be a useful player ATM. IMO if he wasn't a 'Sydney Boy' he would genuinely be being looked at for delisting. Yes, I know talls take longer - but someones gotta go.

You know, I really have nothing against LRT.
... IMO he's just way overrated by some Swans supporters.

Having LRT in our team is like having a 21 man team. He has done nothing that suggests he is anywhere near our best 22, in my opinion. Playing the "what if" game and putting him there so he can ruck if Ball/Doyle goes down is a dangerous one to play, come finals. If only one of Ball/Doyle is available to play before a game, then I reckon he should probably play, but not as a third ruck option if Ball and Doyle are both fit.

I was rapt with the way Monty grabbed his chance this year... but... straight back into the side?

          Why?

Or do you mean in the reserves?

Roos was certainly referring to positions in the senior side when he was quoted as saying this in the SMH:

"It's been really important to win six of the last seven, we've got to just keep capitalising on form. [Amon] Buchanan will hopefully be right next week, so you are starting to get more able bodies.

"We know we've got to get our better players up and running and we know that gives us the best chance to win."

            The complete article is here.

He definately should come ino the team, either for Ablett or McVeigh. In my opinion he has shown much more than these two.

Monty hasn't put a foot wrong and deserves a place in the team. If he fails to deliver then fine, but he has to be given a chance first.

I agree wholeheartedly, but generally I'm opposed to players coming straight back into the team after an injury lay-off.

There's only about 12-15 players who I would recommend it for, and even then it depends on the nature of the injury and the period of time they've missed.

Monty has missed a month. As impressive as he has been - I'm a fan, and no doubt Penga is scratching his head at how quick I was converted - he's simply not that crucial to the team.

My assumption is that he would be fully fit before being selected.

                          I/C: Bevan, Doyle, Ablett, Fosdike
                          EMG: Fixter, James, Buchanan, Roberts-Thomson

No spot for: McVeigh, Thewlis, Meiklejohn, Warfe, Powell, Rogers, Saddington (inj), Sundqvist (inj)
                          my team is:

                          Foll: Ball, Goodes, J.Bolton

I/C Bevan, Fosdike, Fixter, and one of Doyle, LRT and James...

at the moment im leaning toward James though leaves the ruck thin and in theory LRT could fill in there... i just dont think doyle is doing enough to be in the team at the moment and i think ball can cope

Probably as good a game as LRT has had in his whole career

Anyway, Doyle is a ruckman (251 HOs in 30 games; LRT 43 HOs in 23 games)

...LRT is ....Um ....a tall athlete we're trying to turn into a footballer? And yes, I know there is more to football than stats.

If Goodes isn't goint to ruck, it is impossible for Doyle to not play. No team in the league would be foolish enough to play only one ruckman.
