    Re: Ladder Prediction

I have us 4th winning every game

As you can see Geelong is the big 8 pointer. Win that one and we a chance. Lose it and 4th is gone I would think.

Lions at the Gabba week 1 - I'll take that

    1 Bris Lions 22 17 5
    2 Port Adelaide 22 17 5
    3 Melbourne 22 16 6
    4 Sydney 22 16 6
    5 Geelong 22 14 8
    6 St Kilda 22 13 9
    7 Kangaroos 22 13 9
    8 Fremantle 22 12 10
    9 Essendon 22 12 10 0
    10 West Coast 22 10 12
    11 Adelaide 22 9 13
    12 Collingwood 22 9 13
    13 Carlton 22 6 16
    14 W Bulldogs 22 4 18
    15 Hawthorn 22 4 18
    16 Richmond 22 4 18

Here's the really frightening one. Picking the winners based on current ladder positions (including us beating Freo away):

            1 St Kilda
            2 Port Adelaide
            3 Bris Lions
            4 Melbourne
            5 Geelong
            6 Essendon
            7 Kangaroos
            8 Fremantle

            9 Sydney
            10 West Coast
            11 Collingwood
            12 Adelaide
            13 Carlton
            14 W Bulldogs
            15 Richmond
            16 Hawthorn

We miss the 8 on percentage. Who said "a win's a win"?

Based on who I would tip each round...

We are playing Geelong at Telstra Stadium first week of the finals...I can live with that I think lol.

St. Kilda are nominated as the side to ruin Port at AAMI Stadium the first week of the finals

                      1 Bris Lions 22 17 5 0 2349 1947 68 120.64
                      2 Port Adelaide 22 17 5 0 2353 1972 68 119.32

                        bris v melb gabba
                        port v stk aami
                        ess v freo in melbourne

Actually mine would cause some problems - Don't the AFL want to play 2 games at the MCG first week?

Based on that ladder, Essendon are the only Melbourne club with game the first week.

They should get two in the 2nd week with Melbourne and St.Kilda the likely hosts of the Semi-Finals.

Big problems the Prelim week though with the possibility of 4 interstate clubs playing - and Port having to play their prelim in Melbourne.

                            Finals:
Brisbane vs St Kilda - Gabba
Port Adelaide vs Melbourne - AAMI Stadium
                            Geelong vs Kangaroos - MCG
Sydney vs Essendon - Stadium Australia

Leaves us tracking towards a probable semi-final against Melbourne at the MCG... ouch.

Obviously, what this doesn't really take into account is upsets. The only upset I really went for is the Roos to beat St Kilda. If we can avoid suffering upsets, but rather pull them off... the occasional upset can only be good for us.

edit: Apparently, I didn't even tip the Roos to beat St Kilda. So that's NO upsets. Or at least, major upsets. Minor upsets are too subjective.

and sydney forced to play geelong in melbourne the way the afl is talking
Thinking about it though - I think the AFL would prefer to pay back the MCG next year rather than not allowing the Swans to have a home final.

It would be a big call to deny Sydney an AFL final with the amount invested in NSW over the past few years.
