when i saw mcveigh play in a preseason game against collingwood, he was awesome, but he hasn't quite picked up the pace of afl yet, always trying to balk players, ie. the carlton game when he was inside 50 and tried to balk a guy. His kicking and pace in the preseason game was sensational and I thought after seeing him in the brisbane game, round 1, that he was a certainty for the rising star award. But he seems to get very little game time and when he does get game time he now seems a bit gun shy that he will get tackled straight away, basically he takes either too much time or not enough. I still think his handballing in heavy traffic is about the best at the club, about 4 or 5 times this year I have seen him fire out and awesome left handed handpass when you think no one can clear the pack. I think he will be a 10 year player for us and probably our best midfielder in about 3 years.Comment

I am a bit concerned that he has a receding hairline. Might just be the cut, not sure.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
