Good game from the mighty purple boys, Seems like the stacks on defence wasn't needed, just Robbie Hadrill.
I gotta say tho' it surprised me to see goodes given a key defensive role considering his dodgy Knee. But at least his knee was good enough to take Snake out of the game!
Always a good game between the swannies and the dockers, Neither squad Goes belly up and gives the game away, always fight it out till the end .
Once again , greatgame , and a great site too. CYA next year!
If the Wiz didn't play for us , i'd Think he was irritating too!

We were laughably bad at times today. Yet at a point in the 3rd and last quarters there were serious chances we had of pinching the game.

I'm starting to worry about what Roosey has ip his sleeve to combat the opposition. Our game is reliant on quick handballs to free players in our defensive 50. Freo obviously did their homework, as they were onto us like lightning every time we had the footy. As it is now highly obvious to everyone that more often than not our first motion is to play on when moving the ball out of defense. With handpasses fired out under pressure and kicks often fired STRAIGHT to Docker forwards, the 1/2 half scoreline was deserved.

The question is though, how does Roosey combat the fact that coaches know how to stop our running game this season? It just isn't gelling for us, because every team knows how to shut us down. Once we lose confidence in getting the ball out of defence heads seriously drop and players stop leading for the footy. When the guy who is kicking out after a point has nobody to lead to, you know you have a serious serious problem.

I'm worried that we are being outthought this year. And that we have little sign of having any sort of Plan B when Plan A isn't working.

PS:- No offence DV, but if Freo were a premiership contender they'd have beaten us by 100 points today. They very nearly lost a game of football they never should have let us get back into.

Anyone who thinks we had a serious chance to win the game in the 2nd half is delusional. With a 50 point lead, or thereabouts, Freo took their foot of the gas. Each time the game looked in any doubt, Freo started to play at 100% again, and quickly took the initiative away from the swans.
