ok my go ..lets look at trends based on the based on the above numbers

    year - avg for a game - against pg - ratio f/a

    98 - 0.46 - 0.85 - 0.55
    99 - 1.10 - 1.85 - 0.59
    00 - 0.63 - 1.16 - 0.55
    01 - 0.71 - 1.12 - 0.63
    02 - 0.47 - 1.41 - 0.33
    03 - 0.38 - 1.33 - 0.28
    04 - 0.76 - 1.53 - 0.50

For frees are looking a bit better ... against getting worse ... almost back to BBBH days ..but look at the frees for then (ie 99)
But F/A is best for three years ..."

I compiled some stats as well. I find it helpful to examine just the last three years covering Hall's period as a Swan.

Over the last three years, of the 10 players who have kicked the most goals this year, Bazza has received the least number of frees (30) and conceded the most (82).

When you compare the free kick tallies, not many free kicks need be paid for Bazza's stats to look better. Just one additional free every three games is all that's needed for Bazza's stats to be as balanced as Gehrig and Neitz. All of us here know there's more unpaid infringements than that.
