His accuracy in front of goal is amazing, yes he does have misses like everyone else, but he has become one of the most accurate kicks in the team!!

He also brings the ball to ground to the advantage of team mates rather than marking it. I have seen this a few times over the last few months.

Silky, silky, silky skills. IMO the only other player on our team at the moment that is in the same ballpark when it comes to freakish natural talent is Nicky D, and on natural talent alone I would rank those two pretty much right up there for the whole league.

To this day I bring up with my Dad that I picked Micky as the one to fire in 2000 (I don't normally harp on things like that but Dad had picked "that young Ryan Fitzgerald" and after the first few rounds I swear I had been reminded of his pick so many times that 4 years later I still am not even with my gloating...). Averaged over 20 disposals, kicked over 50 goals... took a lot of marks... destroyed Ireland in the International Rules series to top it off, I recall an amazing goal that he weaved in the final game...

One of my all time favourite players to watch.

I have reached the point now where I will only acknowledge talk of trading him by saying I won't acknowledge talk of trading him. Wait. DAMN!

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Hmmm, that's a polite interpretation of his problem taking contested marks. Sorry, I don't mean to sound like I'm having a go at Mickey - I also love watching him play and he is a true favourite son of the club and I'd hate to see him leave. But if we are looking at picking up a top midfielder, a top ruckman (did the swannies ever try for Everitt) and a top defender, we might have to trade one of our better forwards. O'Keefe is getting better and better and mustn't even be considered, Hall is out of the question, as is Schneider, Davis, Bevan and Bucchanon. I guess Nicks is a possibility for trade, especially as he seems to have found form again.

Mick O'Loughlin is one of the few players in our team or any other team currently, that you would go to the footy just to watch him.

You don't trade players like him. No one does.

I defy anyone to name a club who has willingly traded their super star player when that player has wanted to stay.

Talk of trading MOL just demonstrates that people have way to much time on their hands.

Footnote: Wowowowowowowoedin is not even in the same street as O'Loughlin, so don't even bother to mention that as an example of a club trading a star player.

It is not an interpretation, he actually brings the ball down to the advantage of a teammate, if he can. The first time I thought it was just luck but the replay suggested he did it on purpose, and he has done the same since. Mind you it doesn't always come off.
