I agree that blowing a whistle all the time would be a pain. A before and during the breaks plan could be fun...... 25000 people with whistle's giving it to the umps as they walk on and off the field?
During the game would upset the players and I don't want that!
Just a bit of fun.
(Yes I know - can't control 25000 fans to only blow at the breaks)
Would keep the issue in the paper for a while? - Bit like the guy that blows the mouth siren early to finish the RL games... Just a bit too far? But would make a point!

Why do people hate this bloke?I love the way he picks out a free kick 150 metres away from where he is standing off the ball once a game.According to him blocking or holding off the ball only ever happens once a game. And they wonder why everyone except Patrick(I don't watch games I just know the umpires aren't incompetent) Smith complain about inconsistency.
That bloody Brett Allen owes us bigtime after the debacle at Kardinia Park. One of Colless's designated incompetent umpires.
Note that his partner in crime that day Justin Sch(m)itt has been dropped - about 3 weeks too late!

The AFL will trot out the line that "he was due to be rested". Knowing our luck though, he's listed as the emergency for our game, and Coates will go down injured in the first 2 mins.
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I saw a guy get the absolute @@@@ beaten out of him at the G about 3 years ago for continually blowing a whistle.
A beating that was well deserved.
Anyone who takes a whistle to the footy should be banned for life.
It is genuinely immature and plays havoc with the play. Having seen it over the years, and if someone cops a hiding for it, then it's because they have made one of life's truly bad judgements.
I just love how the AFL have tried to bully everyone into being well behaved and nice to the umpires and it just is NOT working. It will be a sad day when the Australian public do somthing just cos a corporation tells them to.
Long live the Australian rebellious spirit - an aspect of our culture that is derived straight from the irish, and yet another reason that Aussie Rules will always be a greater game than any of those Pommy ruling class games for closet faggots.
