How would you react if one that you cared for died when you were sitting next to them and you had to go on the field and try and compete

That must have been very difficult for Jason Ball and I think that he tried but he was not focusse on the game for those few minutes and he made a mistake

Think of the team and stop insulting them all the time

I was pissed off that they lost until I heard what happened to the head trainer and then I realised that would have been the reason why they let such a lead go in the last quarter

Get behind the team as they need the support of all the fans from now until the end of the season and hopefully into the finals

The Swans will be a good team.Mark my words. They have a had a terrible year with injuries and also now they lose their head trainer who is like a father to most of these boys.

      Give the Swannies a break

      Regards Dazz

FFS!!!! The team lost the game before Wally had his attack!!!! When Wally went down, we had already allowed a 40 point lead wither down to just 8 points! geeez. Circumstances my ass. Its a copout to blame this loss on Wally's death. Its a total dishonour to Wally's family to say that it was his "circumstances" that led to the team's capitulation last Saturday. FFS.

I think this should settle it for you:

Swans football director Andrew Ireland said it was hard to know how many players on the ground knew of the situation on the sidelines in the last quarter, though Jackson collapsed about the time Roos spearhead Saverio Rocca kicked his fifth goal of the half to put them within eight points of the Swans.

Therefore, the FACT is, we let a 40 point lead slip to 8 points when it happened, so please don't try to speculate and relate the two issues any more.

Just stick with the facts - the players switched off at 3/4 time, not when Wally went down.

Also give credit to the NMFC players for not giving up at 3/4 time in the face of a big defecit.

I saw an interview with Roosy on Channel 10 this evening. He looked 10 years older. He said that it would be wrong to blame the result on the circumstances.

Having said that, I think laying into Ball is a mistake. Not only was he benched at the time of Wally's heart attack, his 'deliberate' out of bounds bounced between Kennelly's legs.

I was also very shocked to see Goodes in the ruck. Having Ball and Doyle rotate off the bench could it be that neither was up to it, or was it a desperate attempt to arrest some control out of the centre?

        A tragic night all round.

I also think blaming Ball for the loss is wrong. He had played pretty well in the last quarter and we should never have been in that position.

I think it was to try to get some drive out of the centre as we were getting well beaten there and around the ground. We needed to do something.

Roos said he wasn't aware what was taking place, and of the key off-field football staff only Craig Holden (development manager) and Andrew Ireland (football generalk manager) knew the exact developments. Roos said they wisely chose not to alert any of the coaches.

"Obviously all the players on the bench knew and the ones coming on and off the ground (but) I wasn?t aware until after I finished the game."

I didn't expect Roos to say anything else. He would not want to look like he was making excuses, or taking anything away from North Melb. He must have known something was going on, even if not exactly what.

I do not think there is much point trying to make a connection between Wally's death and the result. We lost, we need to win on Sat night. I thought the team looked flat all night and was suprised it took the Roos so long to get on top. We were allright for 3/4 but only just, thanks mainly to inaccurate kicking by them. It looked from the start as though most of the players were going to be happy just to do enough to get over the line. Unfortunately they didn't.

Have you ever been around footballers during a game? They are so focused, the same goes for coaches.

Paul Roos thoughts would not have left the match and no one would have been silly enough to say anything to them till after the match.

I seriously doubt Roos would lie about whether he knew or not.

I don't think he would lie either. According to the report

He could still have known that things weren't right.

Have to agree that we only looked good up until 3/4 time thanks to the Roos inaccurate kicking. The result could have been worse had the Roos kicked straight.
