The score got to within 8 before the tragedy started, but straight away we kicked the next to have a 14 point lead.

I think from that point it is probably pointless trying to speculate what the defining factor for our loss was. The only fact i can see is that we completely failed to shut down the game at any stage during that quarter, something that we have always been reasonably good at. But again, the reason for this is pure speculation.

Because you get off on whinging complaining and sooking about the Swans when they are playing badly. I swear it must be your weekly stress-release to vent here about poor Swans efforts! As 3 quarters of fairly decent footy remains unapplauded

The wally death gives us a highly plausible reason for our last quarter debacle. Which I'm sure you find most unsatisfying, as it gives you less scope to be unrepentantly morose heartless and unnecessarily negative.

I'd like to know if the coaching staff were watching the game at all during the last 15 minutes. From where I sat, most were on the edge of the field with Wally in his dying moments. I know as a fact that Paul Grzanka from the Membership Department was balling his eyes out in full view of everyone at about the 15 minute mark (Respect Paul, by the way!).

But if people fail to believe that a person dying in front of them is not reason enough to lose a match, I seriously cannot help them.

The heart attack happened halfway through the last quarter. We all acknowledge that the slide had already occured by that time and that something should have been done to stop the rot (by leaders on field as well as coaching staff). We were 40 points up at 3-qtr time ffs! Sure, if we had been 4 or 5 goals up at the time of the attack and then lost I can be swayed to your thinking, but the fact is that we had already let them to within 1 or 2 goals with 15 minutes left to play.

And to be fair to NNW, there are plenty of other "whingers" here that arent happy with the capitulation.

I don't know whether the trauma of Wally Jackson's death had anything to do with the fade-out.

The thing is, I've realised that it's irrelevent. The game has happened, it's over and we can't do anything about it. Wally has died, it's happened and we can't do anything about it. I was angry about one on Saturday night, and unaware of the other. By the time I found out what had happened I was only disappointed about one and sad about the other. Either way, there's nothing I or anyone else can do about anything that happened on Saturday night.

At the end of the day, I don't care why the fade-out happened. It happened. We've just got to decide whether we get on with next week, or concede the season. Somehow I know what a bloke who stuck it out through the hard times like PK and Luffy would expect.

Now, nothing would surprise me at the moment and I could well get flamed for this. But that's the way I see it.

If they win the last 3 games they will probably finish 6th. Even with a win last Saturday they would not have finished any higher - so it doesn't matter. What matters is how they respond. Pick themselves up and go all out or lose all 3. Neither would surprise me and quite frankly I don't really care. I just want this season to be over and to feel no more disappointment.

We have to remember that the swans gave up a 32 point lead when wally passed away.

So if anything they couldnt hold on to that 8 point win. What happened in the first 10 mins worries me as they really didnt try.

You really have no clues do you!

Firstly, I had commented on the first three quarters, noting some of the good performances as they were happening but mentioning there were some worrying signs.

Second, those worring signs came to a head in the first 15 minutes in the last quarter when they outscored us 6.2 to 1.0.

Third, all of the above comments relate only to football and had nothing to do with Wally's death, which was after the above fade-out. The debacle at the beginning of the last quarter happened before he collapsed. This was what lost us the game.

Fourth, have a look at our season and our performance over the past 70+ years and wonder why there is reason to complain! Have a look at some of our poor performances this year and you'll see little to cheer about.

Fifth, like a few others you can't seem to work out that the most savage complaints about the last quarter debacle were done immediately after the game when people watching the TV had no idea about Wally's death. Given we had just given up a 40 pt lead in an extremely important game, those comments were hardly surprising at the time.

Sixth, I am very tired of people calling me heartless because I am not grieving over a man I didn't know and had never heard of before. I appreciate it is tragic for his family and the players, and it was also difficult for people who saw the event, and I empathise with their difficulties. It will be a very difficult adjustment period for them and my best wishes go out to them.

Like seeing the story of someone dying in the paper or on the news it is sad, but I'm not going to mourn for him. I don't understand why people would insist that a stranger should assumes another's grief.

I find the swings of attitude from one extreme to the other astounding. For most of the time some of the attitudes are that football is everything and nothing appears to be more important. Then suddenly, football means nothing and it is completely trivial. If you want to live that way, with massive swings of extreme behaviour, then fine, but don't expect others to do so. I like a bit of life balance - enjoy football but not lose sight of reality, and at the same time also not let things, particularly those not directly involving you, overwhelm everything else you find of interest.

Given we don't know what impact it had in the last 15 minutes, I have tried to maintain my comments to the football side, which as I note above were very relevant up until the 15 minute mark of the last quarter.

Seventh, I am sick of people like you who project so little understanding of football and cannot cope with criticism of the team, and yet seem to criticise when you feel like it. You appear to believe you are superior to everyone else because you happen to go to every game, bang your drum, wave your flag and tell us how much you spent on your trips.

I had really wanted to let this drop, but you keep harping on with your holier-than-though views. How about you keep your self-righteous attitude and moralising to yourself!

My 20c .. K'roos were clearly getting back into the match in the last wqtr. and yes it is a momnetum game.

I kept thinking Swans will fire up and close the game down.

What's going on guys... why is Barry hall 3/4 way down the field trying to play superman. Something seems not right.. are they really that bad ??

I read in Australian today that J Ball was aware of trouble and that he was close (eg a pallbearer at wifes funeral a few weeks back) ..no wonder he had a brain explosion.

I feel in normal game Swans would have shut it down and we would have won. Not that night though ...

As for next weekend.. back Sydney to win by 39+ or lose by 39+ could be a volatile one!

No personla offence meant, but I would guess you have never experienced the emotion of death happening around you.

Body?s can do super things ... Minds typically go fuzzy

Doctors Ambo police etc are trained to perform in this type of stressful situation and they way it is do is to dissociate yourself from the person .. Any player coach etc that was aware has an excuse ..the others ... None.. but then again its a team thing .weakest link etc vs a team on a roll (the roos in qtr4)
