At least the Sydney cheer squad look presentable and judging by the posts are reasonably articulate and intelligent. It could be worse. You could all look and sound like Joffa.
Why Eddie Macquire has to trot him out every so often on the Footy Show I don't know. He is an absolute embarrassment.

One day I want Sydney to absolutely flog either/both West Coast and Freo over here and the SS sqaud can pay out on their supporters big time.
You can bang your drum as loud as you like that day!

Changing the subject. My perception is that Sydney don't have a great record at Telstra Stadium.

Both Cheer Squads are definitely articulate. Many people have only become involved because of this website. So yes, RWO has definitely brought many of us a lot closer together.

Yes, I feel for you being in Perth. I really felt for our awesome WA Supporters club whose 2 supposedly highlight days of the year were ruined by awful Swans' performances (especially against Freo). We WILL win over there again, thats for sure. So keep the faith.

Yes, Joffa is a complete embarrassment. But Eddie through his slick media handling has modelled the guy into being some lovable working class folk hero. Something that has brought him undone when he has opened his imbecile mouth, as seen below.

AFL Australian Rules Football forum, footy news and Aussie rules community. Live game chat. Plus Cricket, NFL, Tennis, and more.

Changing the subject, I probably wouldn't ever bring my drum to Perth for a game. Most of the Swans supporters there are all in one area. By getting the drum going, I'll probably only get all the Eagles/Dockers cardboards in time to get their own chants going. The drum is more useful in co-ordinating the cheering at home games when everyone starts chants on their own.

As regards Homebush, you are dead right. Watch how often we kick the pill out of bounds on the full there. Sure we have the majority of fans behind us, BUT with us not much more acquainted to the ground than our opponents, there is the overall feeling that the ground is pretty much neutral.

I personally feel that going from the widest ground to arguably the narrowest does lead to several problems for our Swannies. I hope they are training out there all week to prepare for the game. 50000 at Homebush or 35000 at the SCG, I know what makes the better atmosphere.

Ha! Enjoyed that discussion re: Joffa.

        More barbs for Essendon:

Remind them of the $50,000 paid to Lloyd and Hird for their "oh so valuable" websites (in order to circumvent the salary cap). And then they have the nerve to complain against salary concessions for the Northern States!

Or how their premiership won in 1993 was won when they were cheating the salary cap.

In Sydney it is very different. We passively sit by as bogan from Elsternwick and Broadmeadow give us a caning. I got my head punched in by a wanker in Carlton's grog squad back in 94 because I was the only one firing back at their barbs.
              Just a small note:
              * Elsternwick is not a Melbourne suburb that is renowned for ferals. It's a quiet suburb with a large Jewish population.
              * It's Broadmeadows, not Broadmeadow (isn't Broadmeadow a Sydney suburb?) But Broadmeadows does have many feral Essendon supporters.

Mate, you'd pay $100000 for a child's cubby house in Sydney.

Maybe Maribinong (spelling?) or Airport West may have been better suburbs to choose when talking about Essendon ferals.

Broadmeadow is actually in Newcastle. It is the station you get off when you are going to a Knights NRL game or Newcastle United NSL game.

Is is feral, hell yeah. There are few more feral places in the world that Newcastle I think.

I heard reports that last year the Essendon Cheer Squad and supporters spent the whole train trip back from the Stadium slagging out all things Sydney. And everyone shutting up for fear of them getting into an argument.

I'm NOT advocating violence by any imagination. But if you hear Essendon supporters spouting off ****, fire back at them. They will not cope with it, I can tell you. Sydney supporters have to toughen up and start fighting fire with fire sometimes.

Here are some barbs to give those in red and black. They may well come in handy.

-They dominated footy for 4 years yet only won one flag.
-Ask them how the Carlton semi was in 1999.
-Ask them what it felt like when Plugger took that kick in 1996.
-Ask them what it is like to watch a game where you can see the stars.
-Ask them why when they are the greatest club under the sun that they ONLY managed to get 38000 against us (when 13-15k were there supporting us!!!)
_ask them how many frees they'd get if Lloyd didn't dive ever 30 seconds
-Ask them whether they paid any of Hird's $20000 fine.
-Ask them what it is like to have their Cheer Squad fined $43000 for displaying a message "Shame Sydney shame, you're a disgrace to the game. (The guy who did it goes by the name of Shane, and is a complete twathead.)
-Ask them what district footy association Jude Bolton came from.

Can anyone think of any more barbs we can hurl at the menagerie in black and red?

What about these points for bagging the Bombouts -

                      * Tim Watson was overrated and is a crap coach, newsreader and knows nothing about the game.
                      * Ask how Sheedy's air punches are going after throwing a haymaker at Ricky Olarenshaw and missing when the players walked into the changerooms after they lost the 1996 Preliminary by a point to the Mighty Swans.
                      * How has Mark Mercuri played, and was he worth the $2m over 5 years, since his brother decided to bungy jump the West Gate without a parachute 3-4 years ago ( a bit low, but WE are stooping to there level ).
*Are they going to try and shaft Joe Misiti in a trade for the fifth year running, even though he was offered plenty by other clubs in the first 8 years of his career !?
                      * Matty Lloyd's Dad's gay and Mum is easy !!!
                      * The only person Kevin Sheedy tricks is himself.
                      * How did Joe Misiti, Mark Harvey, Paul Van Der Haar and Dean Wallis get away with all those drink driving, speeding & driving away from a scene of a crime charges over the years !!
                      * Sheedy's love child Kevin Walsh cost the Bombers at least three flags in the 80's
                      * Gary O'Donnell is a dog for losing two state games for the Vics against South Australia in the early nineties.

Essendon is veeeerrrrry middle to upper class, with housing prices starting from $550,000 plus for a basic two or three bedroom house in the area.

Essendon is a particularly good area when Essendon lose a GF against Brisbane in 2001 and I am having a party of 50 plus Bomber haters at my place and then we down to O'Sullivans ( close to Essendon Station and Windy Hill ) at 10pm with Brisbane jumpers, scarves, beanies and polo shirts on that same night.

Were they feral that night ! We all told em' to f*#@ off as we were Fitzroy supporters and had been waiting since 1944 for this flag...... Absolutely magic day and night.....

The suburbs around the Essendon area that attracts the feral Essendon supporters are Airport West, East Keilor, Jacana, Pascoe Vale, Glenroy, Keilor Park, St.Albans, Deer Park, Gladstone Park and Tullamarine.

We have our bad supporters i realise, but slagging opposition teams is fair game. I was at the game at telstra last year and on the train ride back, where I was we were having some friendly banter with some swans fans (the majority of the train!) but that was only because we lost by so much.
But in my experience - swans fans are less likely to respond back with some fair calls eg the ones you mentioned above, but the sydney game is always good as us ess supporters near the cheer squad are out numbered 1000:1 and have to make some noise!

Where are you sitting ? I'll tag you like Kirky all the way from Essendon to Sydney then back to Essendon !!

When we play Essendon, I become my evil personality when confronted by Essendon supporting bozo's....

Like I said in an earlier post, the only good thing about Essendon is the Windy Hill pool I piss in two times a week after a swim....
