Permanent Doyle Thread

Doyle is now displaying some of the potential that he was was touted with.

Sport, performance and confidence and a snowball effect - either good or bad.

Roosy has had faith in him which has seen him with more self-belief and confidence which in turn has seen him play better which in turn only increases his self-belief and confidence........

But its the first step which is the hardest and congratulations to him and Roosy for believing in him.

This type of thing happens at every single club and will happen forever more. Just at the Swans I can recall it happening with Kirky and Luffy.

You are so petrified of making a mistake for the fear of being dragged that instead of catching the ball without even thinking or making that pinpoint kick like a robot - you fluff it. Your confidence plummets, you feel like you are letting your team mates down, so on and so forth.

Now Doyley has his confidence, is spending time on the ground and not just minutes hear and there, so he is contributing to the team, feels a part of the team and has acceptance in his team-mates eyes and in his own eyes.

Hey! Bennet was a good player and never made the appalling stuff ups so often seen at the Swans (Bomford, OMG!).

He had heart, and tenacity and good hands. He never had the run of game time that may have seen him become our CHB (which, remember, we are till lacking!).

I, for one, was very, very, disappointed to see him go and so were a lot of others round here.

Its great that we are easing Ball into the finals series.

Even more important - it's great that we are able to ease Ball into the finals series. Last year Ball was sidelined with his shoulder injury.

Well, to be polite about it, he was just filling a spot on the list while we waited for some decent players to come along. He was great in reserves, but was almost as clumsy in the seniors as Donkey Myles was, Donkey Dion being my favourite Swans player of all time to pay out.

It ashames me that my signed 1997 team poster hanging on my wall is graced by Dion's ugly mug and his signature as well. I just thank god Bennet hadnt come onto the scene by then as well, otherwise I would have torn that poster up long ago!

I agree with you. I thought he was pretty unlucky to be axed.

I caught the end of a FoxFooty classic quarter on Tuesday - the tied game against St Kilda. Bennett gets away a great ball by hand under pressure to set up a goal. A couple of minutes later he takes a contested mark in traffic at the other end of the ground to repel a Saints attack.

Sounds as though he doing well in the SANFL.

Doyle is getting better, although against the reserves ruck division Richmond had yesterday, he should be better than last week!!

He's not my love child...more like my love nephew, but well done DONKEY.

I reckon that should be his official nickname, as a nod to those mean-spirited supporters who called him Donkey Doyle 'cause they thought he was useless; well he ain't useless and I reckon that as repayment we at RWO will officially christen him DONKEY DOYLE and get the wider footy public to let their imagination run wild!

BTW how can we have 58 hit-outs to 15 and only break even at the clearances?
