    Reliance on Hall

Okay, so maybe I have too much time on my hands, but I did this for my own curiosity and thought you guys might be interested.

There have been a few comments this year that the Swans are very Hall (key forward) concious (and why shouldn't they be?). But they are no more than most of the other finals teams, the Lions being the exception (aren't they always)

Top Goalkicker (% of total goals for the team up to rnd 21)
    Bummers 26% - Lloyd
    Swannies 25% - Hall
    Aints 24% - Gehrig
    Demons 23% - Neitz
    Weagles 21% - Matera
    Port 21% - Tredrea
    Geelong 16% - Kingsley
    Dockers 16% - Medhurst
    Lions 11% - Akermanis

    Top 3 Goalkickers
Aints 52% - Gehrig, Reiwoldt and Milne
Swannies 47% - Hall, Magic and Pebbles
    Weagles 44% - Matera, McDougall & Sampi
Demons 43% - Neitz, Bruce, Davey
    Dockers 41% - Medhurst, Farmer & Simmonds
    Bummers 40% - Lloyd,Lucas & Murphy
    Geelong 39% - Kingsley, Graham & Chapman
    Port 35% - Tredrea, Dew & Lade
    Lions 30% - Akermanis, Lynch & Brown

    Top 5 Goalkickers
    Aints 68%
    Demons 59%
    Dockers 59%
    Swannies 58%
    Weagles 56%
    Geelong 55%
    Bummers 54%
    Port 45%
    Lions 45%

We are not Baz-centric at all anymore - you only have to take notice of the game against Melbourne to see that. The reason he would have such a large % of goals as leading goalkicker is that Davis and O'Loughlin who are in our top 5, have missed large chunks of the season, meaning their output is proportionately down, especially taking into account the fact Baz has played all 21 games.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

we dont rely on hall too much.

If we did use him more than anyone else it doesnt bother me, because the other options are there if we need them!

one point worth observing about the Lions is that Brown has missed a lot of game, also Lynch and the former is not a huge goalkicker per se ; they need more from their midfielders.

I think where we maybe rely on Hall a bit to much is around half forward..especially on the bigger grounds. He seems to be the only player that can break a deadlock around that area and keep the ball moving cleanly.

i dont think we rely on hall anymore than he can handle.

He is the main target, BUT he handles it well and is capable of fulfilling the role.

read this for Watson's perspective on finals and forward lines.
