You dont watch Test cricket do you? Any cricket at all?
Haha - yeah I like football with lots of action. I love the concept of cricket (and used to play and watch a lot) but now I find it a bit dull and get too impatient for results (I like to read about older tests - I think I'm living in the past too much!). Although, I do like reading while watching cricket, but that's too hard to do with football!!

You were certainly much better than us in the conditions. I'd like to think we would have put up more of a challenge in better weather, but both teams have to play in what arrives and the Swans were just too bloody good on the day.

Good luck next week, I reckon you can go a long way this September if things work out right.

They lost their first final that year, didn't they? But under the old McIntyre system they lived to fight another day.

that was 1998 - got pumped by the Demons in week one, then won the remaining three against Sydney, Doggies and the Roos

In 1997 they rolled the Eagles, then somehow managed to earn a home final against the 2nd placed Cats, before pipping the Dogs and then knocking off the Saints

But there is another historic aspect of the number 4 that occurred to me at the time. No side has ever won the premiership by winning four finals in a row. What a Grand Final that would be - Brisbane attempting to be the second side to win four flags in a row, facing the Swans attempting to be the first side to win a premiership by winning four finals in a row and attempting to break a long premiership drought. If it happens, it has the makings of a great Grand Final.
talk about jumping the gun! we still have the minor problem of St Kilda @ MCG, and then Port@AAMI before the GF!

That's true, I was sure that it hadn't been done at all. However Adelaide in 1997 could have lost their first final and still won the flag.

They could have, but they didn't

They won all 4 in 1997

1998 was the year they lost the first one
