    Looking for omens

On the way down to Canberra for the north game earlier in the year, we came across a dead kangaroo by the side of the road at Eaglehawk...it surely was an omen. Then last night on the way to the olympic stadium we passed a wedding car procession, which is supposed to bring good luck...and guess what -- of the two bestreamered cars at the front, one was white, the other red...how could we lose after that.

Now, I want reports from RWOLers of omens for the saints game...(I just hope I haven't put the mockers on Roger Moore)and port the week following...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

I haven't believed in omens since the 1996 grand final

Omen one: The AFL had those huge Carey/Kelly "blow up dolls" in the pre match entertainment, and while the Kelly one stood high and proud, the Carey one buckled at the kness and refused to inflate

Omen two: The North cheer squad must've broken out the heavy duty sticky tape at banner making, because Carey and his cohorts struggled to break through it

Then to cap off the perfect start to the day, Kelly won the toss

And we all remember how that day ended

Now lets never speak of it again.

My omen is that we have beaten every team this year except Port Adelaide. Destiny says that we must meet again to see if we can beat them.

My favourite omen is when we're seven goals up 25 minutes into the last quarter. Never fails!

Ask Hatley. He is the most superstitious person I know when it comes to his footy.

Won't bring a camera because he did once and the Swans lost.

Won't take flags in the car. He did to Perth; we lost. He didn't for the Melbourne game. We won. No more flags in Pete's car ever again

So far I am 4 from 4 in my travelling to Sydney this year, and each time I have worn the same black pants. Travelled up yesterday in brown cords but changed into the lucky black pants before the game, got them in the wash now in readiness for Fri night.

I'm feeling very nervous about this game, simply because our form this year seems that we can never have the same result against a team twice, which means we should lose to St Kilda!

I feel bad even writing that.

Well Desmond isn't travelling down for the game and he is commonly known as a bit of a jinx down here, so we still have some hope.

Omens? I think the thunderstorm during last Saturday's final has to be a powerful portent of some kind.

It is either a Swans flag or a Power flag this year.

I am choosing to look at it as we don't lose to the same team twice. That does not mean we can't beat the same team twice. And it holds us in good stead should we travel to Adel next week.

We beat Essendon and Collingwood twice (if you include practice games)
