Every team we played for the second time the result was reversed.....

If only we would have lost to St Kilda earlier in the year.

That way, we would have beaten them last night, defeated Port next week and then Geelong in the GF!

Even though when we lost the toss I felt a whole lot better, when I saw on TV that the Saints banner had been ripped to shreds, I commented to my family that it was a bad, bad sign for us.

My wife and daughter looked at me strangely (not for the first time) and asked me what I meant.

I couldn't really explain it to them, but I had the visions of my group absolutely pissing ourselves laughing at the Carey blowup back in '96, previously mentioned in this thread, not realising it was a BAD omen for the big one. I really had a bad feeling when the banner went.

I have stupid omens that pop up for no apparent reason.

In the highlights package for the preview played during the week before each finals game, I decided whichever team I saw last would win. Before the Eagles game it was a Swans player - we won. For the Saints game it was a Saints player - we lost!!

Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Just to show how stupid these omens are, last week when the train arrived at Central to go to the Eagles game, it happened to be a Milennium train and the interiors in those are blue and yellow. A Weagles supporter on the train said it was an omen, the train was in their colours! Didn't matter in the end though!

I've also heard the one about typing something into Google and hitting I'm feeling lucky to get a prediction - I tried that with "AFL Premiers 2004" a while back and couldn't get anything conclusive.

Sitting at the game and watching the st kilda banner rip apart I remembered this thread and thought "Oh @#$%"!
