Yes, I do get the difference between the two.

To some extent I would perhaps agree on Bolton, however I do recognise (and have done so frequently) that he makes an effective 'third' midfielder. I don't say he's crap, just that he's neither "awesome" nor "elite" as other people say.

I think any 'blinkeredness' on my part is more than significantly less than the 'rose-coloured glasses' for other people, who get excited if he takes a couple of marks or has a few effective possessions.

For what it's worth, I agree with THAT summation of him.

It seems sometimes that you over emphasise the negatives to compenstae for some of the crap which gets written about him 'cause he's half a good sort!!

        Yes - that's probably a fair comment.

lets just agree we want the swans to beat stkilda

i think a summation of the swans midfield IMHO is this:-

unlike a team with one -two star midfielders we have a collection of good-great midfielders who for some reason when on song gel together to form a formiddable midfielder.

mitchel and crawf at hawthorn may be better than all our midfielders but overall our midfield compliments each other and forms a better package.

Bar brisbane who have 5 stars gelling we have one of the best midfields at performing as a unit and jude bolton is a powerful essence of that!

          just my thoughts
Theres not much left to say

I pick up a new set every Monday. Whether they be rose coloured glasses or blinkers depends on whether we win or lose.

IMHO Jude will not be a Swan 2005 anyway and then we will have to visit the hawthorn boards to bag him...

Sydney would be insane to trade a 24(?) year old for a 30 year old.

                    A 25 yo for a 30 yo.

Of course they would be if it was a straight swap... so I very much doubt that will happen.

then again... one might be the difference between us and a flag in the next year or so, but the other is unlikely to be...

Yeah, G'Day guys. I'm a Carlton fan, first and foremost. Just thought I should get that out of the way.

Jude Bolton, IMO, is a very talented player, and knowing that he's OOc at the end of the year, I'd be rapt if Carlton managed to get him. So, this is what I propose:

Simon Wiggins and pick 25 to Sydney for Jude Bolton.

Wiggins is a tough nut who tries his guts out, but isn't brilliantly skilled. However, he had come on a bit before wrecking his shoulder in Rd 13. He's a decent type player who won't be compensation alone for Bolton, so we'll throw in our second Rd draft ick as well. Sound good?
The only thing that keeps me sane is my collection of singing potatoes.

Carlton supporter and proud of it!

                          Nope.

I would claim that you over-estimated his ability!

Why? If we traded Bolton then we wouldn't want another of the same type - we'd want someone with really good skills.

(BTW - not saying Bolton's skills are not okay, but not really in the ball park with some of the really skillful midfielders).
