I would sue Paul Roos and the Sydney Swans if Rowan was returned to the line up this week! hahaComment

clanger is defined as a blatant unforced error but to look at the clanger rates doesn't tell the full picture because they include all the frees against, not just given an accurate picture of ball usage. And sometimes they are generous with some players. You can watch a game and think a bloke has turned it over heaps only to see a couple of clangers registered while others who use it well are attributed with lots of them. And as someone said they don't take into account those who can deliver the ball with lower risk. People who just take it out of the centre and kick it to anyone don't have clangers registered as it is defined as being under some pressure yet often this kick does not favour the person's team.LIFE GOES ONComment

McVeigh was last out and should be first back in. He's done a good job this year and is a player of the future. Whoever gets picked will be spending quite a bit of time on the bench and I'd rather see a positive move like McVeigh to help him see the confidence the coach has in him. He'll also be able to give the midfielders a break if necessary.Today's a draft of your epitaphComment

Best 22: Fosdike
Form: McVeigh
Big body to come off the bench if their forwards moider us in the first half: James
And I reckon it's a bloody disgrace that Warfie didn't get put on the bench for the Richmond game and get to have a farewell prance around the 'G for about 15 minutes in the final quarter. It's not so long ago teams used to play with 20 players- we could have made do with 21 agin' the bottom team!Comment

If Fosdike doesnt crack it for a finals game this year, I think we can safely assume he's gone for next year.
Saying that, I'd prefer McVeigh if we are going for a midfielder.
I like that we have three relatively strong reserves players pushing for selection if you include James. Means we can take a couple of injuries and still field quality sides in the next 3 games.Comment

i would love to see mcveigh get a run on the G in a finals match. give the kid some big game experience, even though if he is selected he'll get limited game time. but he has shown glimpses of class this season and is not afraid to back himself inRoosy = LEGENDComment

Roos has quite clearly stated that Fosdike is in his "best" team but is not sure whether he's ready to resume fitness wise. In a cut-throat final you don't want to go in with a running player who may not last beyond quarter time.
All year we've been bemoaning Roos picking players who weren't quite over their injury or who hadn't regained match fitness. His approach to Fosdike is consistent with what we've been "demanding" - isn't that a good thing?
I don't think you can read a single thing into Fosdike's selection or non-selection this weekend other than an assessment of whether he's match fit.Comment
