Where do Swans fans in Sydney live?

Had an interesting phone conversation with CityRail who finally rang me back today regarding the $6.00 "special event" single rail ticket from Olympic Park and my argument that many people don't live $6 away from the ground and thus getting ripped off.

It was many weeks ago now that I complained but interestingly it took until just after the last game at the Telstra ground for them to get back to me.

CityRail says it's been a breakdown in communication if people may not have been told or directed to the one and only ticket window if they weren't travelling that far, instead of being told that it's $6 for all adults for all stations as every sign there reads on the night.

I argued that people weren't told and also that a majority of Swans fans would live less than a $6 ride away from Olympic Park. The CityRail person argued the opposite saying that a majority of Swans fans would live more than a $6 train ride away and thus were getting a discount.

Remember this has been going on for some time now so we're talking about a large amount of money possibly being generated.

So what do you think, do most Swans fans live more or less than $6 away by train from Olympic Park?

Let's compare how much it costs normally:
    Olympic Park to Chatswood $5.60
    Central $4.60
Bondi Junction $5.20 (you can't go further by train so how many have been charged $6)
    Hornsby $5.60
    Sutherland $6.00
    Campbelltown $6.00
    Quakers Hill $5.60
    Mt Druitt $6.00

So do a majority of Swans fans live beyond these suburbs as Cityrails suggests thus making it a great deal for most, or at or inside these suburbs, making it pointless and/or a rip off?

I live in Hornsby and have always paid $8 for a return ticket to Olympic Park and when i got a single it was $5.60 (and an interogation as to why i wanted a single and how did i expect to get home , very rude of the ticket lady to pry into my private life), I have never heard of a $6 special event ticket though.

i live in "The Shire" - Illawong, which is near Cronulla. It costs me like $4 to get there...where do they think SYDNEY fans live? Most of us live in the Sydney Metro area and then the rest live, obviously, outside - but surely $6 is not a special!

I'm not talking here about return tickets from home. It's when you get a lift out there to the ground but have a drink or go your separate ways and have to get the single back.

I'm from Hornsby too. Never heard of this $6 special either.

Because I work in the city, I use my city weekly to get to Strathfield, and then buy a return from Strathfield.

Last week I bought a single from Central. $4.60. No talk of $6 special from the seller. Just asked for a single and got it.

Were you lucky enough to get a direct train, because we had to change trains because they weren't running direct ones and I also paid $4.60 for one way.
In the past I have been caught with the $6.00 one way when we've got a taxi from the airport then a train into town.

I live out west in Fairfield. I dont know how much it costs to get to Olympic Park, but it costs me about $4 return (half price student concession) to get to the city.

In case you didn't know, if you're returning by train from the game, its much cheaper to buy a return ticket, rather than a single each way.

I live in Northmead, near Baulkham Hills. No trains there, but there's a $10 return bus down Windsor Rd going to Stade de Oz.
