Is that a complement? A red letter day dawns on the Fox. And that's some complement coming from you - from one who's thrills don't come cheap, or easy.

I'm sure that there is a more appropriate forum for this elsewhere on the net

Can't separate these (only live ones)

vs Essendon SCG 1986 beating the thugs, I thought we had finally arrived!

vs Essendon (1987?) 238 to 73 or whatever it was..

vs Dees when we broke THAT drought.

                Vs Hawthorn 1996 Final

and of course 1 point vs Dons prelim same year.

And lastly that prelim last year vs Lions at Stadium, I never dreamed that I would EVER see that many fans at a Swans game in Sydney.....shame we did not get up!

Not fat per se... more along the lines of... well endowed, and the white shorts tended to highlight this fact a lot more than the red

(And I think Kel had a similar complaint when his book was published, and the pic chosen for the front cover was the white shorts one - apparently they tend to make things appear larger/more obvious than our modest boys would like! )

Yeah, likewise the 72,000 for the Collingwood game at Telstra a few weeks earlier. That many for a Swans home and way game in Sydney! Again, shame we lost

The game we arrived was Round 4 1996 against Richmond.
Played at Waverley - won by 1 point.

Huge in terms of self-belief for players and their belief in Rocket.

That certainly was a turning point in the Swans history.
And who could forget plugger running out of defence at full tilt paddling the ball forward knowing there were seconds to go and he was the closest person to the F50. LOL

In 1996, I was only eight years old and didn't go to a game of footy untill the next year. However, I do remember the morning after, waking up and my mum saying "Sydney have made the Grand Final". I remember visiting my Nanna in South Melbourne and going to the South Melbourne market. It was amazing to see the amount of red and white covering almost every shop, and the whole atmosphere being very exciting. I don't remeber that much of the game, execpt my mum feeling very disappointed at the end.

As for my most memorable moments, I have two. My favourite game that I've watched on telly has got to be the final against Port last year. Sydney played extrememly well and the passion and commitment they showed was amazing. When the siren went, my mum and I were jumping up and down, crying and hugging, can't believing what had occured. We had to go to my aunties place that night for Father's Day and my mum and myself couldn't stop smiling at each other, knowing that the Swans were in a home Preliminary Final.

My favourite moment at the ground would have to be the game against Collingwood at Telsta Dome last year (Round 6). I went to that game with no hope that Sydney would win, even though it was the week after that wonderful game against Melbourne. Instead, they came out, all guns blazing, in their team of the century guernseys, and put on a fantastic spectacle. I couldn't believe what I was seeing and it was yet another game when my mum and I were crying and hugging at the end. It's probably even more special now because I see it as just the start of one of the best years of my short life.
