    Captain Kirk?

The nickname could soon be a title too.....or will it be Captain Leo?

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

We all know either of them would make great captains. I would think Brett would be more likely to get the role though.

If Leo gets it, I'll hand in my membership right now

Kirk's already got the tag, down the track they should just make it official

I'll be the first to admit I'm not the biggest L. Barry fan - some of his decision making over the years in his play just doesn't appeal to me.

I think overall Kirk as a team player and also as a player who makes fewer errors week in week out would be the better person for the job.

That being said Leo and having the habit of accidently k/o teammates also leans me in favour of Kirky

Kirk will be captain. In time. But Maxy's still got 3 years left. And I defy anyone to tell me there's a harder dude at the club.

We should just add water and hopefully J.Hird or M.Voss will come along and Captain the Swannies.

Leo Barry is just as valid a Captain as Kirk, Goodes, Hall, J.Bolton or Kennelly, due to the fact that there is no Voss, Hird, Buckley or Peter Mann ( ! ) to step into the Captaincy.

Personally, I would have Fosdike as DVC, Matthews as VC and Donkey Doyle as Captain, with Leo Barry never to play again due to the constant mistakes he makes - unlike the consistent Fosdike !!

I just cannot believe Leapin Lionheart Leo Barry made the All-Australian team and Fosdike, Matthews, Ablett and Doyle didn't, as they were all guns this year - CAP GUNS.

You should hand in your membership for that stupid comment above....

I am always extremely confident, and justified, when Leo has the ball as compared to some of the spastics playing for the Swannies.

That's a great justification for not being Captain, so sidestepping " don't touch me as I'll break my fingernails " Goodes and Fosdike should be more a Captain than a bloke who has eyes only for the ball out on the field of battle !!!

                    Go figure...

I'll have what your on !!

P.S. Leo has knocked Matthews ( as he should as Matthews is a spastic ) and himself out only in his WHOLE career.

I didn't mention Goodes or Fossie.

Goodes is a player that in the past who's name has been circulated for a future captain at the club.

Also with the k/o - he did also k/o C. Bolton last year.

I know you didn't mention Goodes or Fosdike, but I did through a comparison of there playing styles.

So two KO's justify not being Captain then !?

I must get out my Paul Kelly highlights video and send you the highlights of when he knocked out Luff, Dunkley, O'Brien and Cresswell - does that mean that the King shouldn't have been Captain from 93 to 02 ??!!

As the commentators correctly said at the time, at least it shows commitment to the ball ( and team ) when two players collide and both players did go on to play out the game.

If Willo was 5 years younger I would have said Willo in a heartbeat, but he's not.

People have different opinions over who should be captain - just as an overall case I prefer Kirk - that's just the bottom line to it

Until Friday's game, I would have said Goodes, but now I'm wondering whether he still needs to mature a little as a footballer. Barry Hall shows tremendous leadership and courage on the field. Although its nice to have a player as captain who has only ever played for Sydney (total club loyalty), my pick is Hall.

Yep same here - a hardworking superstar as captain sounds fantastic to me.

He is a 5 year option as captain also.
