    CTS's trade targets....

I have given this a lot of thought and have picked players that the Swans can afford to lose if the trade is right.

    We'll start with Goodes.
OK, he was injured this season, but that really isn't any excuse for not playing up to last years Brownlow medal form.
Don't let winning a players highest individual award last year allow you to think he is anything more than an average player.
Sure, he can play just about any position around the ground, seems to have an astute football brain and temperament, I think it is time to offload him before he ages beyond a time when we can trade for him.
My suggestion - straight swap for a round 2 pick.

    O'Loughlin.
I wrote him off at the beginning of the year.
I had a bad feeling that he would not be able to recover from his dodgy knees.
He did, and even though he became probably our most targeted played in the forward line when he struck some good form, I think he is simply not needed. Hall, O'Keefe, Davis, Schneider, etc etc.
We have more than enough to cover him.
In a way he is dead wood, and I think perhaps that even though he has shown loyalty to the club and is no doubt a star when in good form, we could let him go as a part of a deal to gain a young inexperienced player, and hope that that player develops into some sort of star too.

    Saddo is outta here.
I won't elaborate too much, but he was in poor form.
Sure, he became important to the team, but he got injured.
And now he is still injured at the wrong end of the season.
    Trade time.
I mean, he is of no use to the team if he is injured, so I suggest maybe swapping him for a delisted rookie from some other team.
That would be a good deal.

Ablett did more than Roos expected of him this year.
But he didn't become a possible all-Australian selection, so I can see why he should be up on the chopping block.
    I'd suggest delisting him outright.
Would probably be the best deal we could get for him.

Maxfield - OK, he IS our captain, but he simply doesn't have the impact he did as a 25 year old.
    He HAS to go.
Age is no excuse for not being able to run as fast a Crouchy.
Sure, he is a hard nut, who can lay a tackle, and ride a bump, and he may well be quite a great leader from how the players seem to feel about him, but what room do we have in the team for a player of his age? He' splayed well of late, but I am thinking that our 'youth policy' demand that we let go of him, and I am thinking that maybe if we packaged Maxfield with our other 'over the hill players in Willo, Schauble and Ball" we could maybe get our team a second round pick.
    Another great deal

Sadly, I expect quite a few people here will think that I was being totally serious right up until they read this last line.

haha, but think of it as a time saver.

I just finished reading 5 or 6 different stupid threads to which I could have replied individually to.

This way, I cover them all, and the upcoming Maxfield/Captain threads.

Up until the last line I was giving serious thought to putting a petition together in regard to DELISTING you from this website....

In all seriousness, deadwood in Fosdike, Matthews and Nicks should be offered as tradebait in a complete all in one package to lure Cameron the Bruce to Sydney.

Those even suggesting Bruce isn't that good have rocks in there heads, as he is a GUN with a capital G. The guy kicked 30 odd goals this season playing the majority of games in the backline and on the ball.
Well somebody told me, You had a boyfriend, Who looks like a girlfriend,That I had in February of last year, It's not confidential, I've got potential

          CTS I pissed meeself personally.

Very very funny, thankfully Roos has our problems spot on, albeit the midfield and ruck could have been fixed last year. We may have had some value from the likes of Phil read and Justin Murphy

I cant believe anyone got passed swapping Goodes for a 2nd round pick still thinking it was for real.

lol, yeah, I make the odd serious post

I think with all the trades, we have no idea who the coaching staff are prepared to lose.

                        I have faith.

The only player I recall really not wanting to trade in the last 10 years or so was Paul Licuria.

I know thought that we will have to give up some of our talent to get what we want, but so long as it's positive for the teamI'll be happy.

I'd say there is a core of 'untouchables' (in the eyes of the coaching staff) which would consist of maybe 15 players.
I am willing to bet that Goodes, O'Loughlin, Maxfield, Willo, Ball, etc etc are a part of them...

I would be happy for a third rounder for Goodes.

Give O'Loughlin , Ablett & Leo Barry for Crawford.

Marty, you're such a joy I wasn't going to read it all as I skim trought trade threads as until it actually happens it's just speculation. But I did notice the bottom line and then decided to read the entire piece.
