Fosdike the carrot in Swans' bid for Jolly

Sydney, chasing Melbourne ruckman Darren Jolly, has offered midfielder Nic Fosdike to Adelaide for pick 24, Adelaide's second-round selection, which it hopes to offer to the Demons.
Sydney's proposal is acknowledgement that it is unlikely to acquire Ottens, whom the club pursued despite his desire to play for Geelong. You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment

Jolly could be good value.
Simmonds is probably a better get than Ottens, would think he has performed better at the top level.
Worth having another crack at him (If he would come to Sydney)You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment

$300,000 a season for Fosdike is a joke. He has never proved himself to be at that level!- Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!Comment

Good news that we are getting rod of Fosdike. Pity we haven't been able to score a much needed midfielder.Comment

I refuse to believe that Fosdike is on $300,000 a year. That would put him ahead of Jude, Davis, Ball and probably Kirk!!
If we can get Jolly for Fosdike, I'd be happy with that and happy to let Ottens go.We hate Anthony Rocca
We hate Shannon Grant too
We hate scumbag Gaspar
But Leo WE LOVE YOU!Comment

Swans coach Paul Roos said Fosdike was happy to return to his native South Australia. However, while the 24-year-old has been mentioned freely in trade talk, some clubs are understood to have baulked at the size of his contract, believed to be worth more than $300,000 a season
And the Swans should either ask him to AT LEAST 1/2 his contract or delist him.
I don't believe it.
The battle for Richmond ruckman Brad Ottens seems likely to become a game of brinkmanship before tomorrow's 2pm trading deadline. The Swans remain ready to pounce if Geelong are unable to clinch a deal for Ottens.
The Swans have decided what they are willing to give for Ottens, and are sticking to it.
If it comes off, I dare say we will have struck a reasonable deal for him.
If it doesn't, you'd have to say that the Swans have been prudent.
Roos denied the Swans had shown interest in Collingwood midfielder Shane O'Bree despite reports to the contrary. He said O'Bree's name had been mentioned by the Magpies but that he did not fit into his plans. The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment
