It means getting 'amped' about past 'glories'...How long have the two of you been seeing each other? Did it start out in a late night chat room on RWO? Or was it previous to that?And I assume that would involve sitting in front of my Swans 2003 highlights DVD getting over-excited about the prospects of the coming season.
You seem to get along amazingly well for a couple of lifeless fruits, but I guess similars do attract...- Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. I will be celebrating 2005 for many a week....Guys remember we have WON THE PREMIERSHIP only yesterday and yes,some players are aging but WE WON THE RESERVES AS WELL....That tells me we have depth at our great club.Comment

That's the spirit all right. It is also delusional. Paul Roos does not think we have the list to go to the flag, and has said so numerous times. On our day we have the ability to beat anyone. BUT we struggle to win after we knock off a big team. In another thread someone quotes one of the players (Hall?) as saying the final quarter fade out in the PF against Brisbane was because the game against Port took its toll. What happened this year after we beat St K? What happened after we beat Bris? Winning BIG games takes an enormous effort. The players have to work so damn hard that they are stuffed and/or injured for the next week and we simply do not have the depth of talent to cover it.

I stand by what I said. A major part of the reason why we won was the conditioning and fitness of the players. A bit of luck and something special from one of our only trulely talented players got us over the line against Geelong, playing a broken down St K in a the prelim was a bonus, and then the Eagles at the G was a nice way to play the finals. Roos development of a game plan that brought more talented sides down to our level was very well planned and executed - as evinced by the crap quality of one of the more exciting grand finals in memory. So I stand by what I said. Our team had, and still has, some major defeciencies. Great managment and a bit of luck, as well as a guts, determination and a real team spirit won a Cup. I did not think it would have been enough but I was wrong. Little did I know that all that could have been revealed by watching a replay of Sydney kicking 10 goals in a quarter 2 years earlier against a hapless Melbourne.
