Ruck rover - I think he should be in the centre for bounces.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

So where do we play him ?
So what you are saying is that Goodes is not good enough. He won a Brownlow remember and could hardly walk this year. Jeez give him a break. Why are people so negative on RWO?

that's not what anybody is saying. roos has stated categorically that he will not play goodes in the ruck, rule change or no, and the acquisition of an extra ruckman supports that.
goodes is a champion player, but will probably never have the same role as he did in his rising star and brownlow years.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

If Goodes is actually fit ... then let the opposition worry about him.
His opponent might get the ball at first, but I guarentee they will have someone on him very quickly if he starts dominating.
I don't think Goodes will have to worry about his man too often if we are playing him as our offensive midfielder .... He will do enough damage for the opposition coach to have to make a change ....
For me I like the 'let him do his own thing' option when he is fit. And when he is not leave him in the stands. I don't think it does him much good to play below himself. I'd also like to see him do some rucking around the ground. His instincts are sublime - not only does he seem to often get it to a player but also to a player with a little bit of time.
When he is fit, he can be used in most positions, and win most positions, which is pretty unique.
I'll never forget Kevin Sheedy saying that he is near impossible to match up on.
So why play him in a set position every week?
Play him where he is needed and will help the team the most, whether that be in the forward 1/2 the wings, the midfield or the back 1/2
As he has shown, if he is free to be a lose man anywhere he is destructive.
Having said that, if say, he wanted a set position, I would suggest that his most valuable set position would be in the midfield alongside a ruckman.
He is obviously tall, but can play small.
If that makes any sense lol

definitely use him in a flexible way, but for his own good, it might be best for him to have a regular position he can get really familiar with to graft at if things aren't going his way on the day. having him as a permanent mr-fixit might put a little too much pressure on him.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know
Problem with him is that he is good at ost positions, but not really great at any (including the ruck)
I suppose the wing is an option, as a 'rest' position or in case our game plan dictates that he has a set position.
Maybe a forward pocket too.
May sound silly, but he playes small and tall, and is a good mark and a gook kick for goal.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time
