also the goal umpires, whenever freo scored theyd have this huge grin on their face and swans scored poker face...
That goal umpire has done every game in the west for the last few years and always has this smirk on his face when the Dockers or Eagles score a goal.

He has one of those heads you just want to smash.

          BTW.

It will always appear that the home commentators are biased. Don't kid yourselves that Plugger and the Oxygen Thief were not biased when on 7.

That said, Kemp was terrible. Bias is one thing, but you still need to call a spade a spade. The previously mentioned ball out incident, after Warfe was legged AND pushed in the back before the ball rolled OOB was a joke.

But for me the biggest case of bias was Barry's perfectly legal and effective spoil on Medhurst that was ruled as a push. Kemp said 'That's fair enough, you have to protect the player going for the ball'. What a crock of @@@@. it was a great spoil from behind and at no stage did Leo push him in the back. Poor decision and poorer comment.

Anthony Hudson (Ch 10) is by far the most biassed comentator I've heard. Even Eddie shows more restraint. Listen to Hudson call a Hawks game-you can almost hear him ejaculating whenever his team are doing well. He frequently makes comments such as "We're killing 'em" et al. A joke.

first impressions last, the first time i heard hudson was us against essendon in 2001... he stuffed so many names and at half time said that the bombers had a commanding lead when we were up by about 30

he always screws up when calling, if its not names he is getting mixed up itd be teams

ive slowly started to like him over the past couple of years but i still think he is a pinhead

I'm afraid that the prize for worst commentator would have to go to Matthew Campbell with daylight second. I had to mute the sound on a number of occasions on Saturday just to escape the embarrassing nature of his call.

Funnily enough, there is nothing less funny than a 'funny guy' trying to be funny when he so obviously isn't.

And to think I felt a sense of relief when channel 7 lost the rights and I wouldn't have to listen to that hollow-headed cliche machine Drew Morphett any more.
It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

Hudson is the commentator that I despise the most Always gloats when we are going badly and is very keen to point out our weakeness. But I thought that the commentary on Saturday night was the worst that I have experienced . Also the commentary seemed even worse when I watched the replay , maybe because I was not so intent on our performance this time.

I point a strong and direct finger toward Ch. 10 management for this one.
Campbell and Kemp were so blatantly, unbearably biassed it was sickening.

Now if the coverage was purely for the Perth market then fine, but if 10 put it in Sydney, primetime, trying to generate some market share for themselves the performance of the clowns we had, needed to be a little bit better balanced. I spoke to a couple of leaguies who "had a go" at the coverage on Sat. night and they did mention the commentry as a bit of a turn off.

Add this to the @@@@-ups over the coverage time listings Ch10 are doing a good job of shooting themselves in the foot in terms of trying to get better ratings in Sydney.

I think it was actually Gossage and Kemp who were the most biased ones.

Only thing is that this was actually the Fox Footy feed - Ch 10 were doing the Port v Lions game (hence Stephen Quartermain and Time Lane calling the game in Adelaide not our game).

The commentry was extremly one sided and reminded me or the Hawthorn/Sydney final in 96 when Don Scott was one of the commentators. I found that every time the swans did something good such as spoil, tackle or good disposal the only comment was about how Hawthorn should have done this and that. I don't think he mentioned once about how well the swans were playing and the pressure being put on the hawks.

I recall Malcolm Blight having a go at Scott for his bias during this game.

I think that Scott hasn't commentated since but I may be wrong.
