Haven't read most of the above posts... just one question. Who is going to be our second key backman next year?

Barry will fill in some times, but only against certain opponents. Who else? Roberts-Thomson? Dempster? Pfft.
    We hate Anthony Rocca
    We hate Shannon Grant too
    We hate scumbag Gaspar

No doubt the club will now be looking to use at least one of its drafts picks to draft us a tall K/P defender. Not really surprised with James getting the chop, but I agree with Charlie, its not like our K/P defender stocks are that strong.

We gave you hell because you hinted at knowing something and wouldn't tell. swans_fan6 came on and told all to be proven correct.

        there's a big difference.

Thought someone said McGlone was gone also? He doesn't appear on this list.

Or is my mind playing tricks on me?

Anyhoo Bomford, who's your fancy for the Melbourne Cup ? Are you a regular or kind of a once a year-Melbourne Cup, dollar each way person ?
My friends often say my name is synonymous with the term 'mug punter' so that gives you an idea of my betting prowess. Everyday I seem to re-learn the same lesson whether its with the ponies, Swans delistings or whatever. If you're not on the inside you're talking out of your hat.

Not that Heath James was our second key backman this year. And he was fit during the 2nd half of the year when he couldnt get a game, wasnt he? Which means the selectors had decided that he did not have a role to play. Regardless of what supporters say, his continuous non-selection points to this.

While there's every chance we'll be looking to draft a potential KPP defender (in the Heath Grundy mould, although footydraft predicts that Heath #2 will go at pick 14 and even if they're wrong it's v unlikely he'll still be around at pick 31), we can't expect our draftee to be playing firsts until early-mid 2006 at the very best.

Therefore, the club/Roos believes that at least one of Powell, hyphen or Dempster can step up to earn a spot in 2005. They wouldn't still be on the list (and Heathy not) otherwise. They're all still on the learning curve (although hyphen should be pretty bloody close to the end of it)- there's no reason for me to believe that Roos is wrong until 2005 rolls around and we see the colour of everyone's money.

Just to be controversial- compared with most fringe players who get the chop, Heathy was selected to play for the club a substantial number of times. He spent enough time on the park for the firsts in 2004 for the powers-that-be to form a definite opinion about whether he could make it. I don't necessarily agree w/ their assessment, but so far as 'don't chop the kid without giving him a go' has any validity as an argument, he had a go.

                      Tongue ? in ? cheek ?

Round 2 (Can I roll my eyes again ?) Yes, you sure did give me hell and I thought it was best for us to agree to disagree.

If something happens in a club, there?s a tier in which information filters down. First the club decides, then the managers/players find out, then the media and finally the general public. All I ever said was that I would find out things before most, whether it was a previous topic of discussion or something I might only find out 2 seconds before the media does, which is generally 2 seconds before those that are on RWO 24/7 ?

As said before I haven?t come on here saying ?I know but am not telling?, dangling a carrot and alluding to knowing everything, which is how you seem to portray me. My father is involved with the swans and if he says something to me in confidence then you should respect my decision to keep it that way. A forum can close on legal advice and a club, administration and directors can be held personally liable for anything published on the forum and can be sued for damages. In fact, there are a number of legal cases currently underway relating to statements made by third parties on chat rooms and web sites. I enjoy RWO and we don?t need that.

Someone once said " If you're prepared to gossip, be prepared for some criticism, positive or otherwise " And I totally agree and take note of that.

james was never going to be a key defender as some seem to think

                        he showed glimpses
but sadly injuries have to count against someone ...wether that seems fair or not..

Pillowtalk - if I was getting sensitive information and couldn't speak about it, I wouldn't speak about it full stop.

                            You brought it on yourself.

Ryan how does this sound for a tip all swans supporters want that flag but it is proving hard to get. The Hard Get sounds like a topical tip to me and it can stay all day has been set solely for the cup and will be at nice odds.
                                cheers Ian
