    Round 3 vs AFC

The mighty Adelaide (well maybe not so mighty after the loss to the Saints) take on Sydney this weekend at the SCG.

    Current prices:
    SYDNEY 2.10
    ADELAIDE 1.68

So, can Sydney defeat Adelaide? Where will they win it if they can?

Carey and Burton are not definite starters on Sunday for the Crows (it is only Monday). No info on the the Swans injuries at this stage (unless someone can add...)

As a one eyed Adelaide supporter, I'm thinking the result will be similar to that of their last meeting at the SCG last year.

    Thoughts?

No bites back? That's a shame, you weren't being troll-like enough

(royal618 is a Crows-supporting workmate of mine. I share the office with him, a cats fan and a host of apathetic people)

As to the game, I think it will largely depend on which Sydney team appears on Sunday. At our best, we'll push any side, at our worst, it's ALMOST comical to watch.

On the assumption that a vaguely competitive Swans side runs out, the midfield and a miserly defence are the Swans' keys to victory. Williams, Maxfield etc had a quiet one against Freo, but won't be so easily held 2 weeks in a row. We have relied on an efficient backline in the last couple of years and if CBolton can keep up his form, and Schauble slots back at CHB/FB asap, then they'll be hard to score against.

The Sydney forwards rely heavily on good pinpoint delivery. We don't have the firepower that can CREATE goals (ie: Lockett, O'Brien, Kelly etc), and the kicking for goal varies wildly between deadly accuracy to simply deadly to anyone sitting behind the goals (in a 180' arc).

Similarly, who knows what effect the St Kilda loss might have on Adelaide. strengthen their resolve? introduce doubt?

    Should be an interesting one.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....
