I see that Luke Taylor is still on the website. Is he still training with the group and was the delisting a typo?

Also is Josh thewlis still training with the group (indicating we are probably going to rookie list him)?

And does anyone know where Scooter McGlone is these days?

I am not sure about McGlone's whereabouts but there was a recent story on Meiklejohn in The Canberra Times which stated that James was going to the Port Adelaide Magpies and was being joined by a few other players delisted by the Swans. I can not recall if McGlone was among those players named.

Scott signed with SANFL for 2 years though heard he's pretty homesick ... Josh is still around but I don't think he's been training with them.

Guy Campbell is a Bendigo boy, who recently just missed out on gaining selection for the Essendon Football Club rookie list. Along with all other players, a more developed Campbell is keen to make an impact in his second year for the Bendigo Bombers in season 2004.

Starting as a junior for the Bendigo Pioneers, Campbell also made several Victorian representative football sides, before playing for the Bendigo Diggers. He is now a member of the Bendigo Bombers and is a chance to be drafted into our highest level of football, the AFL.

"My ultimate goal is to play footy at the highest level and get drafted. Over the summer I trained with Essendon and just missed out on being drafted, but I am still focused on it."

Sticking to his hometown roots, Campbell is happy where football has taken him. Playing with the Bendigo Pioneers, Bendigo Diggers and now Bendigo Bombers, AFL selection is still an opportunity. According to many at the club, including captain Nick Carter, Campbell is a very valuable asset to any team and has the right body for his position.

Campbell is a key position player for the Bombers and will be one of the keys to the success of the team in 2004. Playing most of his football in the back line, he is also very capable of playing in the ruck and in the forward line. Campbell 's ability to play in a variety of positions allows the Bombers to use him to help play a more direct style of football this season.

During the off-season Campbell worked on gaining weight to try and make him a stronger and more powerful player, who is now at 95kg and has a man's body. He also worked on his overall fitness and like many of his fellow teammates was given a personal training program during the pre-season. Luckily enough for Campbell , he was not plagued by any injuries this pre-season and has had a smooth run towards round one and will be selected.

Now an experienced player with the Bombers, Campbell believes that now is the perfect time to step up and make an impact for the club.

"Last year, I found it tough, but I have developed a bigger body and it is now time that I made an obvious impact on the team. My long term goal is to be drafted and this year it is very important that I make a name for myself if I want to be selected."

Expect Campbell to play most games this season and help the Bombers achieve success in season 2004.

Looks like we have added quite a bit of depth to our Key Position and taller players.

The re drafting of Heath now looks to have been successful since we picked up Heath Grundy, who I was hoping we would pick up.

I think we could have several guys who could be promoted from this list.

Excellent news 3 KPP in that group Grundy selection 42 is a real shock he was rated as a possible top 20 pick in the national draft and has already played senior football in the SA competition.

So Campbell, Grundy and Vogels are all key-position players. Shaw is a ruckman, Potter, Clarke and I think Hayes are midfielders. That leaves Garubba - anyone know anything about him?

Strengths: Garrubba is a wingman who would be one of the quickest players in the draft pool. His pace over the first five yards is simply explosive. He loves to carry the ball and kick a goal.
Stefan looks great with the ball in his hands, he is very balanced and moves smoothly. Can be moved forward and kick a goal and tends to dispose pretty well by foot.
Weaknesses: Can drift in and out of games and looked a bit out of his depth at the carnival. He never really seems to take a game by the scruff of the neck. Also drops a lot of marks and lacks intensity at times.
Footydraft.com comment: Not sure what to make of him. Sometimes he can look like an absolute star, but at other times he doesn't look close to AFL standard. His stocks have fallen dramatically this year, but a club might be prepared to pick him late paced on his promise last year and raw pace.

Very impressed by our rookie selections

A couple of more mature key position types in Campbell and Vogels, mixed with a pair of young key position players in Grundy and Hayes, young midfielders in Clarke and Garubba, and a ruckman in Shaw - a very good mix

I can't believe Grundy slipped through to #42!
