    Ruck options:
    1. Ball
    2. Jolly
    3. Doyle
+ Goodes, (hopefully LRT might come up - though I doubt it)

...surely, they can't all play in the same team.

    i agree with this

doyle will stuggle to make the best 22
it leaves us with three slow lanky ruckman and thats one too many
Theres not much left to say

Why is it that people seem to think we now have too many ruckman? Geez, you cant please anyone here sometimes. First we have only 2 ruckman and everyone is crying out for another. Then we get one and suddenly we have too many.

Now settle down for a sec and look at this: Port Adelaide have 3 ruckman who can play seniors - Primus, Lade & Brogan. Brisbane have 4 - Keating, McDonald, Charman, McLaren. How often are all these guys in the team at once? Very rarely, if ever. The competition for spots can only be beneficial, or as is quite often the case, one of them is injured, but with enough big men in the squad, they have a ready replacement.

For years at the swans, as soon as one ruckman gets injured, we struggle to find replacements. We had Saddo doing the ruckwork at times this year for heavens sake.

We have lots of potential midfielders, but do they all play at the same time? No of course not, some guys miss out and play reserves until their chances come. For once we have depth in our ruck stocks and suddenly we are too tall and too slow.

Doyle has played his best football in the forward line. He is a good mark and a good set shot at goal.
            Once was, now elsewhere

Do try read others posts sharpie, I know you want to get on with the eye rolling but please try to focus. Your posts have a habit of becoming non sequiters.

In this case nobody is suggesting we have too many ruckmen, the debate is between those who think the Swans can play 3 ruckmen plus Goodes and those that don't.

I've re-read this thread, and the others recently about the same topic, and I still feel that there are those here that are crying foul over having too many ruckmen in the squad, not just in any particular 22.

Being a 'non sequitur'? So I have an idea outside the current flow of the thread. Its still related to the rucking issue, and I dont really see how putting my thoughts in a new thread would have made any difference to anyone.

As for the issue of playing 2 or 3 ruckman in a team, I personally think it is a moot point because it is highly likely that one will be injured at any one time. Similar to picking a 'best 22', you really are never going to get such a thing, you can only put on the park the best 22 who are fit and available at the time.

Why do people get so testy and accusatory here at RWO ? I would prefer out and out abuse than this haughty , "holier than thou kind of stuff that seems to happen here a lot.

I'm actually slightly dyslexic, runs in the family.
I never bring it up with the spelling Nasis, cos I just think it aint worth talkin to them about anything. They are as bad as right right wing christian gestapo- a few of whom I think we also have right here on RWO.

Slightly dyslexic? WTF does that mean?

Don't you mean "too bloody lazy to spell it right"?
