The Sydney Swans today announced a net profit of $888,855 for the year ended 31 October 2004. This compares with a loss of $1.4 million in the previous year.
Swans Chairman Richard Colless said; ?The Board is naturally pleased with the improvement in the Club?s financial performance?.
?Our challenge however is to ensure that the platform established this year underpins the Club?s future success both on and off the field. Notwithstanding the improved financial performance, our longer term focus is to strengthen our balance sheet.? Mr Colless said.
?Sydney remains an extremely competitive football market ? some would argue the most competitive football market in the world - so nothing can be taken for granted.?
Mr Colless acknowledged the contribution of management, staff and players led by Myles Baron-Hay, Andrew Ireland and Paul Roos.
