    Swans: Announce Profit

The Sydney Swans today announced a net profit of $888,855 for the year ended 31 October 2004. This compares with a loss of $1.4 million in the previous year.

Swans Chairman Richard Colless said; ?The Board is naturally pleased with the improvement in the Club?s financial performance?.

?Our challenge however is to ensure that the platform established this year underpins the Club?s future success both on and off the field. Notwithstanding the improved financial performance, our longer term focus is to strengthen our balance sheet.? Mr Colless said.

?Sydney remains an extremely competitive football market ? some would argue the most competitive football market in the world - so nothing can be taken for granted.?

Mr Colless acknowledged the contribution of management, staff and players led by Myles Baron-Hay, Andrew Ireland and Paul Roos.

      Very nice profit that.

      Other bits of info

7% increase in overall revenue to $23.5million (therefore we spent about $22.6million)

      - Sponsorship up 19%
      - Membership up 12%
      - Gate Sales stayed the same
      - Merchandise sales up more than 50%

Therefore Myles Baron-Hay = second coming of Christ
      Once was, now elsewhere

Nope, just awaiting your classical comments about how wrong we all are and have a quote that has nothing to do with anything to back it up. Seems to me you can't handle being found out as the fraud you are.

Well i am glad that in your kindie class they have taught you to cut and paste fugures from someone elses work trying to make you look like you know more than you do, as we know your opinion isnt worth the space it is typed on anyway. As you go through school you will soon find out this is plagarism. How will you cope in the real world

And by the way, what you think of me doesnt matter.

Actually Robbie, we would have spent less than $22.6 million as the profit figure reported was net.

Now if we had all made sydneyswans.com.au our homepage, we might have made a profit of $889,000!!

                          I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

Like how the **** can you deduce that Go_monty! You come here onto RWO and suddenly start making character assasinations of people. What has Bigears done to bring about a comment like the above?

Robbie was just using hyperbole to back up his point that he is extremely happy at the success of the club under the Red Baron.
Once again man, play the ball and NOT the man. Personal insults seem to be increasing tenfold this off-season. And it is puttting many of us off posting on RWO as a result.

The club is starting the get its act together in so many aspects. For the first time in ages, I do have confidence not only in the way the club is run, but the way it is heading.

The Red Baron deserves a lot of credit for having laid the platform for the club to make the next step up in terms of ambition, member-acknowledgement and overall professionalism. And Richard Colless deserves it too, as he appointed him unequivocably and without hesitation (despite the grumbles from many of us that we were becoming an Old Boys Club for expat Sandgropers).

Rome wasn't built in a day. But we are starting to put down the cobblestone from which a future big club can be made.
