I thought so...I seem to recall reading earlier in the year that we were going to endeavour to have a better go this WC...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

      Who's the captain?

McVeigh, O'Keefe, Bolton, Willoughby, Spriggs, Fosdike, Schneider, Doyle, Jolly, Kennelly, James, Nicks, Bolton, Dempster, Powell, Roberts-Thomson, Kirk, Buchanan, Moore, Campbell, Schmidt, Vogels, Grundy, Bevan, Garrubba, Shaw, Clarke, Potter

No MAxfield and the other deputies are out...Goodes, Mathews, Barry, Schauble, Williams, Ball and Hall.

Judging by the article in the Age here

I guess it would be Jude...but funny that there has been no announcement, especially with the hoopla surrounding Bowden for example.

Far prefer Captain Kirk myself, but there we go. Garubba, Shaw, Clarke and Potter to miss out one would have thought. On the other hand that leaves us with only two ruckung options (unless you count LRT!!!). No Hall or Schauble to take a bit of the slack at either end.

Seriously, if the club is going to take this attitude to the pre-season cup, they could at least make some money out of it by raffling full-forward for the day.

        I'd buy a ticket.

Kirk and Bolton are both in the current leadership group, I believe, so you'd think it would be from those two. Nicks is also a past deputy VC.

I think Garubba and Shaw are probables to miss. Clarke and Potter I'm not so sure about, but I'm struggling to nominate an alternative pair. There was an article in one of yesterday's papers (the DT I think - can't find a link) in which Roos said he would play Potter. And Clarke could be a useful small option in the forward line, especially if he wants to play Monty and Schneider in the midfield.

For ruck options, Campbell could play there if need be. He's 196cm and partly played in the ruck for Bendigo last year. LRT is another tall enough and will a little experience.

Potter played in last year's WC game, so you'd think that if they are serious about his development, he'd have to get another run this year.

It would send him a pretty negative message if he misses out!

I tend to agree Cliff, I think Potter will play, and perhaps Grundy will be the unlucky one

LRT - rawlings (throw him in the deep end, put the athleticism to the test; LRT - 196, 93. rawlings - 196, 95.
The only issue is that if LRT has to think he will be in trouble IMHO. Not good for a backline player. His best position is on a wing drifting forward where he can be instinctive without the pressure. Maybe he will learn to go back in 3-4 seasons under his belt but not yet.

.... but then it is only a practice game so why not!!!!

Roos syas he is using the game to see how much the younger brigade have improved. Will be good to watch, lets hope they show some promise.

That article states that Kennelly will be missing. He played last week and is named in the squad.

An error in the article, maybe, or is Roos really determined to play all the rookies at the expense of best-18 players?
